Top 10 Spookiest Villain Blog Activity

Hey everyone, this is my Top 10 Spookiest Villain list just in time for Halloween! Enjoy!

1. The Nihilanth

After battling through the amazing single player of Half-Life, this is the last thing you'd expect to find. Not only does he look creepy in a demonic baby sort of way, he also gets into your head with his creepy voice! He fires dozens and dozens of electrical orbs and fires a teleport orb at you which teleports you into the middle of a group of his fellow allies. The only way to kill him his destroy his energy spheres (which makes him pretty much invincible)around himand destroy his brain! I'll never forget the first time I fought him in his lair during my first play through of Half-Life!

2. Poison Headcrabs: Half-Life 2

Ok these guys are the most annoying creepy characters of all time, which is part of the reason why I put them at #2. These guys come out of nowhere. They can be around the corner, in a box, on a shelf, below a floor, or even thrown at you from one of their hosts! I must say these are the most damaging creepy video game characters of all time due to the fact that their poison takes you down to 1HP after one bite!

3. Fast Zombie: Half-Life 2

Once you hear the howl of one these you'll always remember them, the distinct noises they make always are noticeable. Not only are these guys super fast, they can leap great disntances which makes them harder to kill. In groups they always take different paths to surround you and once they do they do great damage with their sharp claws!

4. Alma: F.E.A.R

Alma is creepy from the get-go, she scares the crap of you in the most unsuspecting moments which makes you think twice about going into a dark vent or a dark room. She never stops trying to terrorize you, thinking of many different clever ways to creep you out. She needs no weapons since she can take out an entire squad of police and turn them into a blood mist without the slightest movement of a finger.

5. The Witch: Left 4 Dead Series

The first time I ran into a Witch in Left 4 dead, I'll never forget. I thought she was a regular zombie until she started charging me like crazy. The Witch has to be the 2nd most annoying creepy character of any game. You'll never forget the sound of her crying in the distance and you'll learn to stay far away from her after your first encounter. Not only will she almost instantly incapacitate you with her long sharp claws, she won't stop until either she or you dies!

6. Little Sisters: Bioshock

These little girls may look like little innocent girls trapped in a creepyunderwater worldbut you couldn't be more wrong! Once you see one of these creepy little girls stabbing a corpse with a needle you'll think twice! They may look like they're unarmed but they have the best back up of any character, you may call him BigDaddy. Once you meet him, you'll never be the same again!

7. Berserker: Gears of War

The first time you run into a Berserker in the Gears of War series you hope that you won't run into another ever again. They may be blind but they can hear or smell anything with great ease. They'll break down any wall you happen to alertit to.Conventional weapons cannot hurt a berserker, they must be lured into the open to be taken out by the Hammer of Dawn.

8. Cherub: Doom 3

Babies usually aren't creepy unless you put them into the world of Doom. These things were so creepy in Doom 3, they would just lunge after you with their sharp claws out of nowhere. They were so irritating and freaky at the same time. I always dreaded running into these things in the dark!

9. Slashers: Dead Space

These guys are hiding everywhere! Not only are their bodies creepy but they have long blades for arms! If you don't pay attention to these guys they can do major damage with those arm blades. Not only are they annoying, they never quit going after you! These guys make you rethink every one of your steps in the Dead Space series.

10. The Flood: Halo series

I really hated getting trapped in certain areas with the flood. You'd hear that creepy music play then you'd hear certain noises which made you want to turn around. Their weapon was really their size in numbers, always out numbering Master Chief. I really hated theCarrier ones that exploded when you got near.

Gamespot Activities Part 2

I've been really pleased and impressed with how GameSpot is getting us GS'ers more involved with things lately. I really like all the YouTube stuff they've been doing the last couple of weeks. I've never made a video and posted it for everyone else on the net to see until this month. So I really must thank GameSpot for getting me to come out of my shell and try new things, especially things I never thought I'd do. I've had a lot of fun with all the scavenger hunts they've been coming up with like the pretty in pink and the current Pax screenshot scavenger hunt. These things are what separate GameSpot from all the other gaming community sites (I've checked out a lot of these sites). To me it seems like GameSpot is the only site I think deserves to be called a community because all the other sites out there just don't quite feel like a community like GameSpot does. All the dedication and hard work they do to get us involved with not only the site but the industry as well. Everything from the trivia, to the contests, to the brackets, and so forth. It really makes GameSpot an amazing place to be and I'm proud to call myself a member. I don't know how everyone else feels but I'm always really excited to see what they come up with next and participate. Looking forward to seeing what they come up with next :).

Thank you everyone at GameSpot, keep up the great work!

Quake Game Night

I had a blast earlier playing the original Quake MP. It was so refreshing to go back and enjoy some good ol' deathmatch, ctf, and 1on1 dueling. It brought back so many fun memories from what feels like so long ago. It was a small turn out but I think it was the perfect size and we all had so much fun together playing CTF and Deathmatch. I was a little rusty at first but everything seemed to come back to me even though I had no mouse and was using a touchpad on an old laptop. During CTF it seemed like Jody was stalking me for the entire 60 minutes! Every time I turned a corner she'd be right there with her rocket launcher and BAM she'd get me. I happened to get in a few hits though, I thought I did pretty good. I was really impressed with my score considering how long it was since I had played. I'm really looking forward to future game nights!

Thanks again to Jody who set all this up and stayed playing to the end! It's staff members like you that make Gamespot so awesome and the place it is now!

My E3 Grades

I know I'm a little late for this but I wanted to post what I thought about the 3 big E3 conferences.

Microsoft C+: I really thought that Microsoft was going to have a big conference when they started off so strong with MW3 and the new Tomb Raider. I really got bored with all the motion games.Don't get me wrong I love the concept of the Kinect (especially over the Wii and Playstation Move) but there were just way too many demos and previews for my taste. However some Kinect games look like they have potential to become great games. Gears of War 3 looks great, I really enjoyed participating in the beta they had in late April - early May. Looking forward to adding that to my collection after summer is over.Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary is a great idea, I still play through the original story every now and then. I'm really looking forward to reliving the original story with polished graphics and in full HD! Halo 4 was not really a surprise to me, I kind of saw Microsoft doing this at the end even before it was leaked on the net. I have been wanting to continue the story from Halo 3 and see what awaits Master Chief who's been floating in space for some time now. I'm curious to see what kind of job 343 does not only with Halo 4, but Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary as well. I think all the Kinect stuff really slowed them down.

Sony B+: I respect the way Sony came out and basicallylaid it all out on how they were hacked and compromisedinformation from millions of PSNaccounts. I really liked their apology and how they approached it during their conference thatway they could just get it over with and out of the way.Uncharted 3 looks fantastic, not just from a visual stand point but a game play stand point as well. I'm highly anticipating the beta that's coming soon to PSN. I was not impressed with all the 3D stuff as I still think it's just a gimmick and not worth the money right now. I know 3D will one day change the way we play games but in my opinion it still has a way to go. I figured Sony would be just like Microsoft when it came to the motion games but I'm glad they didn't cram it down our throats like MS did. None of the Move games really wowed me at all. Medieval Moves is a good example, it's so boring, bland, and looks so unentertaining. I just don't think shooting gears with abowto move further into a level is exciting. Even though I don't like the name, I thought the PS Vita looked awesome! I'm really looking forward to seeing what they do with it, the games already look awesome. I thought Sony really stole the show with the revealing of the Vita.

Nintendo B-: After watching all the conferences on day one, I really thought Nintendo was going to blow the roof off and steal the show with their conference. They really had a chance to leave everyone in the dust with their new console reveal. Instead of doing so, they left everyone confused for the majority of the conference andwondering if the Wii-U is a new console or a controller/add-on. What really disappointed me was no price on the Wii-U, no specs, and hardly any extra info on the console. Also the fact that they basically cut the conference short after that and left everyone in the dark about the new console. The graphics were alright, they weren't mind blowing but at the same time they're a huge step up from the Wii. I just thought theycould ofwent in a different direction with the reveal and done a better job overall. Other than all the Wii-U stuff, I enjoyed some of the 3DS games. Star Fox looks like it's a solid choice for the 3DS. Looking forward to the new Zelda game, curious to see how it turns out. So much mystery about the new console really made it disappointing for me however they had a much more solid conference than Microsoft.

It's sad to see another E3 come and go like that. I was really hoping for more during this E3 but it will make the hype going into next years so much more. Hopefully one day I can make my dream come true by actually attending E3! Overall E3 grade: B+.

Gamespot Activities

I must say I have been really impressed with Gamespot lately with all the activities and emblem events going on since the start of 2010. I had a lot of fun doing the Ornament Scavenger Hunt during the holidays this year. I know Gamespot has always been great with their members, but this year just seemed more creative and fun.

That is why I want to personally thank JodyR for all her hard work thus far and I look forward to seeing and participating in her future events. You rock Jody!!!!! Thanks again!!!! Keep up the great work!!!!

First blog post

I never thought I'd actually post a blog on here but I thought I'd give it a try and post every now and then. I actually made a Valentine's Day E-Card for Gamespot's Valentine's Day E-card workshop, it's been awhile since I've been in photoshop but I had fun and I think it gave me a new spark in photoshop. If anyone wants to make one the thread is here: http://www.gamespot.com/pages/forums/show_msgs.php?topic_id=27160596&msg_id=319241876#319241876. I recommend those with a image editor to give it a try.

Here's mine, it's a simple one:
