Confused about Japanese and American release dates

OK so by now I'm pretty sure all of you reading this know by now that SSBB has been delayed, but I'm OK with that because delays happen and it usually improves the game, so that's cool. Now this is the part that I'm confused about, SSBB is slated for release here in America on March 8th, but it is gonna be released in Japan on January 30th, may I ask why? Why are the release days so far apart? You would think that all they have to do is just translate it, but that doesn't take THAT long, besides shouldn't Sora, the company that makes the SSB series design the two versions of the game at the same time, whether than make the Japanese version then the American and PAL versions. Now I know it takes a long time to make a game and it takes a lot of hard work to do so, but thats no excuse to slack off when designing the other versions of the game. Now its not just Japanese games but even America is guilty, like god of war which was released here in America on March 22nd, but then it was released in japan on November 17, WTF.

It is not just release dates but sometimes they don't even release whole games here, the end result can be confusing. Like the final fantasy series. OK so ff1 was released here in the US, but ff2 and ff3 weren't, then ff4 was released in japan and in the US, but since there was no ff2 or 3 they called ff4 ff2, so wait I was playing 4 all along on my SNES and not 2!? Then they released ff5 in japan, then ff6 here in the US but since there was no 3,4,5, ff6 was called ff3 so what happened to 3,4,5, what were they thinking!? Anyways by the time ff7 came out square stopped messing with the titles and just called it ff7 everywhere.

Just when you thought it couldn't get more confusing, well it can, and did square started to re-release final fantasy games on the GBA. they put ff1 and 2 on the GBA, but wait is this the Japanese ff2 or the American version of ff2, which technically is ff4. Now in 2006 they put ff3 on the DS, but ff3 is ff6 in japan, but then they re-released ff6 on the GBA, but isn't ff6 ff3 in the US, so is ff3 on the DS the same as ff6 on the GBA! Since ff3 is ff6 then WTF is ff6 on the GBA!? You now what I can't take it any more I'm just going around in circles. Thanks for Reading:)
