Today in this world, the video game industry is what it is. An industry. No longer are games given, or made so that the general fan can appeal to them, but rather the goal is on wealth, on world domination. Litterally.

The capitalistc economy of ours has allowed these corporations to indulge us with mainstream media. Targetting those of either the old hardcore community, or as existence of the Wii, to the new horizon. This is nothing to be appalled about, but rather, as put by the Simpons Game, marketing has become the only way for games to evolve. To evolve through greed, and wealth. Although indie developers have not yet fallen in this direction, it is only a matter of time.

And when that comes, the race to gain fans, to be the best at graphics, at plot, at every small essential of a game will nolonger be something to be a wonder for the game, but a commodity. Even more, these games, these ways of recreation will be nothing more than a really bad movie. Perhaps they are already.
