IF you're still able to log in try creating a back up file before sending the PS3 for repairs or to the dump.

IF you can't login, try taking out the hard drive... and extracting the data over a laptop... not 100% sure how to do that, but there are help topics written on this board somewhere.

DO not put your hard drive into a NEW PlayStation cuz it will format it and then for sure your save data will be gone, you can put the hard drive back into the original PS3 and it should read it like normal.

Also you might want to try putting a new hard drive in and seeing if that changes anything... but with the little info given, it really sounds like a system problem.

I have a 500 gig external harddrive that i backed it up on.Thanks for looking out.

Thanks guys. Yes it sucks but things happen. What can you do? When i get the cash up i will buy a new PS3. I think i am going to get the 250 gig Slim. I think there is such a thing. I have a 500 gig externel hard drive that i use for my movies and video. The problem i had was running out of room for my game saves. What hurts the most was dropping almost 800.00 and some dollars for that thing. LOL!! Thanks SONY!

Congratulations. Three years is quite an achievement for a 60GB. I had three 60GB PS3's because of them dying. 18 months was the longest time one of them survived. My second 60GB only lasted four months!x-2tha-z
Thank you. I took care of it and kept it clean the best that i could.I think setting it on its side is what killed it.

I backed it up maybe a month ago, so it wont be to bad. I really miss it because it really was my hub for my entertainment system. I never really played my old PS2 games, but i used the extra card readers and the 4 usb. So now i have to add a darn usb hub thing, but oh well.

I bought my 60 PS3 in Feb of 07 and it died last week. And guess what killed it? CODMW2. I have posted a thread on this a while back, but with now real help. When i would play Uncharted 2 and CODMW2 after a while of playing, it would beep and then shut off. I could play any other game for hours with no prob. I called Sony and they had no clue but to send it in. I am going to buy a Slim when i get the cash. This stinks!

Ok I am not a tech wiz, it took me 2 years to get used to email, and I have still not mastered texting. Anyway I am interested in getting a HDMI cable to connect my PS3 and my Tv to get better graphics or whatever it does. So my question is, will it work for my Tv and give me a really good HD or graphics. So my Tv is an LCD Tv and after looking all around it found some font sayind "Full HD 1080p". So I have no idea what that really means. So will an HDMI cable work for my Tv type and will it really improve the graphics or HD.

I agree. It looks like it can be a real fun game. The demo is way to short. The controls are a little weird, but its something to get used to. I am going to buy it.
