ok, im going to take a guess and say that it is a power supply overheating problem. As with my last PS, it started smelling funny right before it exploded, and with my new one, i started smelling the same smell. i quickly turned off the power and removed the supply from the computer. this is confusing, i am not sure what would cause the power supply to overheat, it is brand new...

for a while now, when i play team fortress 2, my computer would crash, but in a weird way, it the screen would get no input then turn off, and the sound would start looping as if the computer had stalled. i would turn off my computer and wait for around 10 minutes before turning it back on. After around 3 mouths, the power supply blew up, which i have recently replaced.

It was working fine until i started up tf2 when it did the similar crash, i decided that i was going to see if my prosesser was dieing. I didnt find any strange marks or anything on the chip. When i put my computer back together again and tryed to boot, everything looked fine, all the fans were running, but the screen was blank and my DVD drive was making funny noises(the green light was also flashing). I dont know what this means, but my best guess is that the Hard drive has failed, and the computer is trying to boot from the dvd drive, but would that explain the blank screen? im not exactully sure where to start, any suggestions or comments would be very helpful. Thanks!
