I wish I was a kid. Then I could spend all my time and energy on the pointless repetition that's required to get good at most games these days.
I'm 44, I have 2 kids and a 60 hour a week job. Getting good at the PS3 controller is not real high on my priority list.
I play games to have fun and relax. Repeating the same 90 seconds of a game 30+ times doesn't accomplish either of those things.
Thanks for the tips. I finally got passed it.
It seems like there's quite a bit of jumping in the second half of the game? That's pretty disappointing. All the jumping puzzles just don't do it for me. The fighting is a thousand times more fun, IMO.
I guess I just suck. :(
This is so depressing. I so want to finish this game. I've been looking forward to it for a year. :(
The jumping one was the biggest pain the part near the end after you save pandora he jumps down the mountain into hades to break the chain that was pain.

Grrrr.... that's not very encouraging. :|
I didn't find it hard or anything was pretty easy, wait till you get to the one where you jump down, that one was a pain.

I kind of suck with the PS3 controller. I'm a PC gamer primarily so it's obviously a very different skillset on the PS3. At the rate I'm going, I'll be retired before I get good with it. lol
Ok, I went back and looked...
I beat Hades with no problem. I'm well beyond that but he was the last boss I faced.
The part I'm on starts right after you go through that really dark level where you have to use the Helios head to find your way around and to eventually reveal a hidden path. Then you get on top of this air vent and fly up with the Icarus wings. The part I'm on starts right after that.
Not sure if I'm explaining this well... the entire level is nothing but jumping and avoiding fireballs. There's no fighting what-so-ever. I can't get very far into it at all. The furthest I've gotten is where you're climbing this really tall wall as the flaming rocks are falling toward you. But I've only gotten that far once. I usually die well before that. :(
Before I say this let me first tell you that I was completely in love with this game up until now. I couldn't wait to get home from work every day so I could play some more. Since last night, that's changed...
It's probably just me but I cannot of the life of me get passed the Chain of Balance level. I litterally died twice in the game before this point and now after trying this level 30 times, I'm just about ready to give up and sell the game.
To me, a level like this has absolutely no business being in a game like GoW. It isn't anything like any level up to that point in the game. It feels like playing Mario Bros or Little Big Planet. Why is it even in there? It's not fun. It's just frustring to the point of ruining the game for me. Stuff like this really makes me angry. You spend $65 on a game and you get 4 hours of fun out of it? It's pretty hard not to feel ripped off when a developer chooses to put something as pointless and frustrating as this in an otherwise fantastic game.
It's really a shame that the only gamers developers seem to care about are the ones who have time to spend 20 or 30 hours a week playing. I'm lucky if I get 4 or 5 hours a week to play. Unless I quit my job and play games full time it's unlikely I'll ever be good enough with the PS3 controller to finish this game. :(
