I don't mind playing a PS3 game online, but there's a few people out there who can't understand the difference between fantasy and reality.
Here's a couple of good examples...
First of all, I'm female and like to play as a female character online in GTA 4. (Although, I must say, that the zombie character is looking more and more appealing to use. Given these couple of experiences that I have had. Lol.) Anyway, not too long after I first started playing GTA 4 online, I had made a new friend in one of the games that I was in. I did not tell this person if I was really female, nor did I give the person any other information about me.
We had a few little chats while playing in the game and this person seemed totally normal. Well, the next night, after the rest of my friends left the game, this person started sending me messages. He/she.it, whatever this person was, started complaining to me about not letting them drive. I swear, I got about 4 messages, that were strictly full of whining about not letting them drive. So out of utter annoyance, I told them that if they wanted to drive so damn bad, I would let them have a car of their own. You would think that would be a reasonable deal, right? Not to this person, no.
The message I got back was "I don't want my own car to drive, because I want to sit next to you. You're so cute. I need to be near you." My reaction of course was "Wtf!?" I didn't even bother to reply to it, nor did I bother to reply to the next message that person had sent. It was just disgusting and creepy.
My second encounter with another creep, was earlier this week. Me and this person played a few games together, had a few normal conversations, and again I didn't give out much information about myself. The most information that I gave about myself, was that I lived in a land that I totally made up and that I have a boyfriend. (I always take it upon myself to let people know that I'm taken. Especially since a lot of guys out there, especially online, like to try flirting to see what they can get. Stuff like that irritates me.) Again, this person had no clue if I was really female or what. (I could have been a gay guy, posing as a female for all this person knew. Lol.) Then earlier this week, things got creepy.
While we were in the middle of game, this person started sending me messages, saying that I should give them a kiss. All I could say was "Do you realize that this is just a game?" The next message I got, this person claimed that they were my boyfriend and then asked me if I loved him or not. I told him that I knew for a fact that he was not my boyfriend and that I sure as hell do not love somebody who is a utter nut job. This person sent me several other messages and I didn't even bother to respond to them. It was just creepy and weird.
I'm pretty sure that he wasn't my boyfriend. My boyfriend is not a creepy nut job, who doesn't know the difference between a game and reality. Nor does he own a PS3 or have a PSN Account.
In closing, I guess all that I can say is... Thank goodness there is a block feature! Yay for the block feature!
