So I've saved up quite a lot for an electric guitar. Now before I purchase it, can I learn the guitar without outside lessons, is it absolutely necessary? There's no one who teaches guitar where I live, so I'm assuming the only way to learn is from the Internet etc.

So I'm getting a guitar for my birthday, I've never played before and I want to learn over the summer. Preferably from Amazon UK, which elecrtic guitar would you recommend under 80£?
