One of the thing I have heard a lot of people complaining about is ports/wiimakes on wii. I think they are a great thing.
A lot of the games that are being ported to wii are good games: Okami, RE4, Godfather, Various New Play Control Titles, Twilight Princess, etc. A lot of people complain because they already have played these games. I, however have not. Although I am not a new gamer, there are still tons of great games that I've missed out on. I am glad to have versions of some of these games on a console I own. If you've already played the game, then you have no need to get it again. If these games are new to you, then get them if you find them fun and interesting.
A lot of people who buy wii are relatively new gamers. It is safe to assume that these gamers have not played the ps2/gamecube games that are being ported. Its great to expose these games to a wider audience that is found on the wii.
I'm all for new play control. I haven't played most of these games since I never owned a cube, and it is difficult to find used copies of a lot of these games in stores. I'm looking forward to getting pikmin and Metroid Prime 1 and 2.
The wii also has a lot of inferior versions of games that are out on 360/ps3. So what? I only own a wii. I can't afford a 360 or ps3 at the moment. If I had a 360 or ps3, I would probably rather play most of these games on that. However, I only own a wii. A lot of these games look like fun, even if the graphics suffer a big hit. As long as most of the content/gameplay is there, then so what? I'd rather have a game that is fun, even if it is inferior to other versions, than no game at all.
