I was wondering if anyone has downloaded and tried the doom 3 HD mod and if so, is it safe to download? When I downloaded it I got a warnign that says its not commonly downloaded and could harm my computer? But I've read lots of posts on the website from people who say they've installed it and it works great. I would really like to play this in HD with widescreen support so any help or advice on this is much appreciated.
why would u even need more than one? I would think just one of those together with a good cpu would be more than powerful enough for any games that are out right now. These cards become outdated so fast though, that is the problem.I have one 6950 2GB right now and I am really considering getting that as my second one.

wow so HD6850 is considered low end now? Cause I have a 5770 and it runs most newer games at high settings, of course I also have a Phenom II 6-core cpu to go with it. What would be considered a noticeable upgrade over my 5770 that wouldn't cost over 200$?[QUOTE="welroon"][QUOTE="marcthpro"]
Yeah like GTX 550 TI Being behind by far of HD6850 for about same price or HD7770 that where nvidia always fail but it a good thing for AMD it let them have some market lol anyhow GTX 550 TI will be Discontinued as GTX 650 release around September or October

wow thanks that is a really good deal. So I guess if I had this I shouldn't have to do any upgrades for a while except upgrade my ram from 4 to 8 gigs. I've looked on newegg recently and I did not see a deal like this. Thanks a lot[QUOTE="marcthpro"]wow so HD6850 is considered low end now? Yes I know they are out with the 7000 series now so of course the 5000 series is going to be considered low end. But honestly, I don't believe that most games that are out now even take full advantage of all that the newer cards are capable of, so i think its kind of a waste to spend 400-500 dollars on a top of the line card if you dont need to.Yeah like GTX 550 TI Being behind by far of HD6850 for about same price or HD7770 that where nvidia always fail but it a good thing for AMD it let them have some market lol anyhow GTX 550 TI will be Discontinued as GTX 650 release around September or October

Is that true that Nvidia runs games better? I thought ATI was pretty comparable especially for the price. Also arent some games more optimized for Nvidia and some more for ATI? Thanks for the advice I will do some research, I used to own Nvidia years ago and it was a good card.[QUOTE="welroon"][QUOTE="GamerwillzPS"]
4GB of RAM is about enough. What is bottlenecking your gaming performance is obviously the GPU. You should upgrade that one. But GPUs aren't cheap though.
When you are upgrading the GPU, go for Nvidia since they run games better.

Well, don't take it as a fact. But from what I've heard is that Nvidia run games better because they have fewer issues. Many people who complained about problems are mostly ATI users such as unusual low framerates, flickering and some other technical issues in regards to graphics. So yes, it seems that many games are better optimised for Nvidia.
So what I would say is that it's probably better to be safe than sorry, therefore you should look at Nvidia cards. Take my words as advice and don't feel the pressure from me to purchase a Nvidia card. ;)
thanks fo rthe advice, I will definitely look into Nvidia.[QUOTE="welroon"][QUOTE="GamerwillzPS"]Is that true that Nvidia runs games better? Thanks for the advice I will do some research, I used to own Nvidia years ago and it was a good card. apples and oranges. Both companies trade blows here and there. Go for the card your interested in that matches your budget at the time. I agree, from what I have read both companies make cheaper and higher end cards, and they both have their drawbacks. But for me, ATI will always attract me more for their price/bang for the buck. All I know is that video cards are like cars, right after you buy them they are already outdated and being replaced by something newer and better.4GB of RAM is about enough.
