Whoever bought a 360 only probably wont care about MGS4 nearly as much as ps3 owners. I believe it just wouldn't sell well on the 360 and it would cost way too much to downgrade such a space heavy game. If it does come out for the 360, it'll come so late that no one will care anymore. If 360 fans wanted to play it so bad, they could go to a friends house and play it themselves. Porting it to 360 is a waste of time and money.

no, the new winter SKUs are not capable of PS3 BC. The reason being that they took out the ps2 CPU (Emotion Engine) and the ps2 GPU (Graphics Synthesizer), so it's completely incapable of rendering ps2 software. At least that's from my understanding.

I dont think any console should be $400 at this point in time. Unless you really have a steady income and you have no other priorities to deal with in your life, by all means go out and grab it. It's an amazing console no doubt. I can't wait for x-mas so I can finally play that MGS4 bundle I got =]. The point is if it's worth it to you go out and grab it. If you got enough money saved up to have a safety blanket after a big $400 purchase I dont see why not.

Sorry this game looked lame to begin with. Nintendo needs to get their arse in gear and start making some REAL games for the people who brought them to the top in the first place. I'm getting a ps3 for christmas. I resigned to the fact I can't think of one good upcoming game for the wii besides Animal Crossing this holiday season. I'm PRAYING the wii does good in 09', because besides brawl, this year was a pretty sad one for the wii.

Playstation 2 is dead... there's no reason to develop games on it anymore. From a developers standpoint the games wont be making enough money on the system to warrant a production. I say transfer the late ps2 games like yakuza and that naruto game you mentioned to the psn store, surely they'll find some love there...

I can't say I agree with the topic. Nintendo is stronger than ever with their never changing characters and tweaked storylines for their main franchises. I do think you make some good points about the rather static characters, but honestly, it is the gameplay that pushes the games. Alot of people who play these games obviously don't care about characters who don't talk, or else they wouldn't sell in record breaking numbers.

I'm with you in the sense that I don't want to see an indepth storyline about Mario and the Princess, but a new franchise with characters to relate to and empathize with would be nice. I'm pretty sure Nintendo could do whatever it wants at this point and it would continue to have the insane following it does.

It would be nice to see something completely new since we are very aware that Nintendo is capable of making some incredible games, but I believe that most consumers like the familiar and hence why when Mario is slapped on a Tennis or Bowling or Lawn Darts game, everyone buys it...even if the same game came out with different characters and no one would give it a second glance.

-Murdock-
I agree it's all about the economics and the the money flow. People agree with the familiar and are in a sense afraid to risk their dollar in unknown territory. However I feel that is the same feeling that started games to begin with, people didn't know what to expect from certain games, and the experiments that came out brilliantly became the franchises that are known today. The problem nowadays is that we just experiment with new hardware, yet leave the software the same way (at least for most series) it was a decade ago, with only a few tweaks and characters. Maybe we need a better way to distribute demos of new games so they reach the masses and inform them that there are indeed deeper and more lengthy games worth trying!

If you're ignorant and naive, yes.mdisen
Then elaborate on how I'm being so naive here. If you fully read the article and not just the title you'd know I'd be talking about depth in characters and imaginative story lines. If there's a wii game that you think has depth, defend that game, I'd love to hear about it and gladly follow up on a REAL argument
