Please could someone tell me how to get over the water to the other side on Drake's Unchartered Fortune when the game is 26% complete.All the ledges either side are useless or collapse and there's no way I can jump it.

Can someone please help me with the Formula One Championship 2007 version on PS3.Everytime I choose the grand prix weekend option and try to qualify my lap times are not recorded.It's the most annoying thing when i've done a good lap can someone tell me what's going on is there something wrong with my game disc ???
