i agree. I said the something a while back, but most ppl laughed :( I COULDN"T SLEEP THAT NIGHT:cry:

I knew only a minority would agree, but only the minority knows. :/ It has a 3G module, it takes simcards, it does all the hard stuff to be a beastly smartphone, in fact, the most powerful hands down, all it was missing was a GSM module which costs probably no more than 5$ in a manufacturing capacity. They could've just slipped it in there and announce at a later date that the device is also a phone. I'd use it ... f*** the haters...

Regarding the mystery why the VITA sucks so bad right now it hurts.

It had absolutely every hardware necessity to become the most powerful smartphone (the 3G model), the only thing it missed was a GSM module and a few bits of plumbing. Even the cheapest Nokia has a GSM chip, these things are practically free.

I for one, would've bought the VITA as a secondary smartphone in a heartbeat, yes, you wouldn't carry such a large device on your face, but you will use earphones/headphones to answer calls.

The fact that it's a phone means it will come everywhere I go and it means I will use it more and love it more.

There is no other reliable way of finding out. If they had an archive tool in gamespot where you could see all of the top news of the past weeks I wouldn't start a topic here.

cheers,

[QUOTE="wiidominance"]

[QUOTE="BrunoBRS"] the DS doesn't have half the features the PSP has, the wii doesn't have 1/100 of the features the 360/PS3 have. *looks at sales charts* huh. interesting. BrunoBRS

Very good point. But why do we - gamers - have to give a the slightest damn to game sales ? I thought we're after the experience, the good games, where ever they are. You sound like you have some stocks with nintendo, if thats the case then I understand you being concerned about nintendo making profits. Me - however - I am a consumer, and I want the absolute best for the least amount of money, thats how consumers meant to role no ?

On that note, who's to say that the PSP experience is worse than the DS's ? I am not sure, I didn't play both devices thoroughly to say but i think they're both good in their own ways.

Answer these three questions if you will:

1. Will you get the 3DS for 300$ if it had all the features I mentioned ? 3G GPS Compass 8 Gb internal storage multi touch two joysticks >> all to aid the gaming experience btw as I explained in the post.

2. Don't you think Nintendo is more than capable at this point of resting on all the cash of Wii/DS to actually make the device at the price point ? Its 2010 the tech got cheaper.

3. Don't you think that the device will be a "better" gaming device with all the features suggested ?

If you answer yes to all three, then why oppose it ?

You'll be reaping the benefit in the end. I don't think the 3DS is a bad device, I just think it looks a bit ugly, and can be made much better and I am personally willing to shell out 300$ for that. Handhelds are competiing directly with smartphones, we just have to face it, the iphone is capable of some amazing gameplay. Who knows what games are gona look like on the iphone 4G ? I just want this 3DS to seal it perfectly for me !!!

the consumers don't want to pay for a bunch of stuff they won't need. maybe you want, but not the other consumers. and i'm trying to explain to you why those pointless features won't be in. BTW of course it'll have a big internal memory, that's most likely how you'll install games on the 3DS and watch movies. a second analog is not necessary, it would make it clumsy. changing it's position is not a smart move either, since it'll be the standard movement pad for games. GPS is really pointless, just learn how to read a map and connect to google maps... THROUGH A HOTSPOT. seriously, hotspots are everywhere. it's not like i'll be under a bridge with a hobo trying to play mario kart online.

I am curious to see how many people agree to that. I have been in not too few situations where I really hoped I had internet connection on the fly to play games online. 3G and GPS are in no way over rated, I am not sure you used these features on something like an iphone to understand the beauty. However, this is not what I am getting at here. What I am getting at, is Nintendo being the creative gameplay mechanic game developer they could turn GPS+3G+compass into something of a unique gameplay mechanic. Imagine a game where you interact with items/characters/monsters in real life using the GPS/3D camera combo ? They did a tech demo similar to that already on e3 but they can push it further so that it incorporates real life locations ! I think the tech is readily available and can be made affordable. Yes its not for everyone but so was the Wiimote !! I like Nintendo because they're a bit gimmicky, and gimmicks are good. Also ask any PSP owner and he'll tell you how much he would've appreciated to have a second joystick ! Yes, they didn't have touch screen, but there are certain games where I don't want it touch I just want it straight up traditional handheld. Why not release a killer handheld and let it last long instead of release a new iteration every few months ? I don't mind an xbox360-esque pad layout or a dualshock layout with the placement of the second stick. But I seriously think a second stick will harm nothing and make a lot of gamers happy !

Nintendo want's to keep this affordable so they can make $$$$. Look what happen to Sony when they first released the Ps3 I don't think Nintendo wants to go through that. Remember Nintendo is only a game company both Sony and Microsoft have other things so if something goes wrong for Nintendo that can lead to big problems.

I think most people are missing the point. Don't be concerned on Nintendo's behalf here !!!! you are paying them money not the other way round. Make demands now and somethings might actually end up in the final design. IF everyone is going to be apologetic for Nintendo then why the heck will they improve their products when they have such a loyal fanbase that is more concerned about the company making profits than their own executives ... O_o .... We have heard/seen how well some producers respond to online feedback in making products. Don't underestimate shouting here for MOAR ..... PEACE^^

What?

So? Of course they should make money off each unit. Thats just silly. Anyone with any sense on how to run a business should know, you sell the product at a profit

I don't understand why we fault nintendo for this

If they should the Cube at a lost, it surely could've been the end of nintendo.

You can't buy a $10 DVD player? Coz you'd have to pay $10 more for your Wii if it had DVD playback

I guess when the PSP2 is out, then Nintendo will get a stimulant to consider such "extravagant" features.

[QUOTE="wiidominance"][QUOTE="ozzsoad"]Except for having lots of internal storage, none of those are neccessary. Even then, it still has SD support. Oh, and DVD's are so 2006, why do you still want them on the Wii? It's a "games" console. I have no problems with keeping the dust off it with games alone. darth-pyschosis

Because the PS2 can play'em ? And I can't see why the Wii didn't have it, and Nintendo saying that they didn't want to pay the DVD licensing fee was just being greedy. They were greedy enough by making money out of the box which is unusual in console market.
