The story is really poor, and that's important to me if you're going to spend 60-70 hours in a game. I can only plant probes and explore so much before I get bored. I don't understand why they gated the most interesting parts of the game so heavily, really makes it a drag.

People say that affinity missions are where the the real stories are at, but it's just another fetch/grind task that has short cutscenes. I guess witcher 3 has spoiled me with story-telling.

I kind of envy you guys for enjoying it so much, because I'm having serious hurdles trying to go through it. The world is gorgeous no doubt, but I can only kill, fetch, and plant for so long.

It's even more useless and stupid than the term "gamer"

I hate the word gamer as well. Especially when you associate it with partying.

I prefer the term "video game enthusiast" myself.

If it weren't for some appealing exclusives, I would agree with you guys that consoles aren't necessary. But, the wii u exclusives, bloodborne, halo 5... I would feel like i missed out on some pretty cool experiences if I just stuck to pc.

just have both. I can't live in a world where I would've never played divinity: original sin and bloodborne.

Until AMD actually becomes a competitor in streaming, I'm not touching them again. The portability of playing pc games with limelight is irreplaceable.

would be nice to actually see some video footage. All these GTA IV stills look amazing... but they are just stills and you realize the user is probably running the game at 10 fps. Kind of like those skyrim mod screens.

I think it truly depends on what games you are into. If you like mmos, simulator, and strategy, then strictly stay on pc.

If you like sports games, exclusives, or the multiplats, then go console. I have switched to console not because it is easier, but the selection of games is more of my taste. I cant play games like red dead redemption, puppeteer, mgs, ratchet and clank, infamous, or the naughty dog games on pc. And im not really into the pc exclusives that are coming out, a lot of it is indie stuff.

The decision is all about the preference you have for games imo.

That CPU is not very good for gaming. I know you are on a tight budget, but spend 40-50 dollars more on a sandy/ivy/haswell processor. That AMD cpu is a waste of money. Secondly, a 660 ti or 7950 is perfect for a budget gamer. Anything less and you will be switching parts in a year or two.

When looking at a motherboard, it basically comes down to two questions:

1. Will you overclock?

2. Are you doing crossfire/sli?

If you answered no to both, then you can get a nice board for 90-100 dollars. If you do want to overclock, expect to spend $120+ on a quality board.

No, it's not. The console needs a serious price drop when you compare the specs of it to a 400 dollar ps4. It should be in the 200-250 dollar range at least for it to be ripe.
