One idea on how they could have used motion controls though would be to use the nunchuck to steer (either by tilting or the analog stick) and then you hold the wii remote upright, use the "A" button as the gas, and treat it like a gear shift or something since the remote can detect distance from the sensor bar. Can you imagine how cool it would be to be able to shift gears down and up around corners and peel out at the start of the race? That would have been an awesome option for a control scheme.

dotWithShoes

The wii remote can only detect where it is from the sensor bar IF its facing the sensor bar, in the upright position you ask for .. it cannot.

lol. OH NO!! My plan is ruined!!! lol. guess this means there is no way to over come that! except that Warioware uses the Wii remote like a gear shift and it works. Even if what i said doesn't work, that wasn't the point. don't be so technical with the idea's mechanics. Just look at the idea as a new way of thinking. lol

[QUOTE="wiifan001"]I don't want intense violence, sexual themes, and strong language on the Wii. One is too many. I am most thankful GTA is not coming to Wii.wiifan001

Just a quick curious quesiton: Why does it matter if the game is simply offered to the system? If you don't want it, then you don't have to buy it. Would you bother you that much for the game to even be available?

Side Note: Thats a simple question, not an attack.

Yes it would bother me. Video games should never have gotten to this extent if the first place. Neither children nor adults should be playing these kind of games. The stuff I've mentioned above shouldn't have been offered in teh first place. It bothers me to see that innocent 6 year olds are going to be exposed to this stupid content in the future.

Well I won't argue with your point, but I will say that the world is full of worse things than video games. And that Manhunt 2 is already out on the Wii. Also, you might not want to own any kind of dvd player (cause of the adult movies you can watch on it) or a computer (cause you can look at adult content on the internet, oh you can do that on the wii browser as well) or cable or satellite cause of the horrible movies and shows that are offered on thos.

My point is that if that content offends you (which it does me too), then you don't support it. no sense in trying to abolish it from the universe, cause unfortunatly, you'll never suceed.

OK so we already have this content on movies, magazines, internet, and all sorts of other places. Why extend it to video games? I'll bet that a decade ago, video game violence and other content could possibly be restricted before Mature rated games came. The only plus to this is that video games are much easier to prevent than most of the other ways that we can get this content.

Because what developers offer through video games doesn't affect you unless you choose to purchase the game. The same way a DVD porn doesn't affect you unless you choose to watch it. And as for children, the same applies for them if the parents choose to buy it. saying you never want to see it offered period is irrational thinking (lthough it would be a good thing)and will never happen. Find another, effective way to fight the offensive content than by crying "FOUL".

[QUOTE="Fredrick2003x"]

Look...

You can't play Resident Evil Outbreak (Playstation 2) online anymore.

You can't play Resident Evil Outbreak File 2 (Playtation 2) online anymore.

You can't play SSX 3 (Playstation 2) online anymore.

You can't play Timesplitters: Future Perfect (Playstation 2) online anymore.

You can't play Metal Gear Solid 3 (Playstation 2) online anymore.

You can't play Goldeneye: Rogue Agent (Playstation 2) online anymore.

You can't play Alien Front Online (Dreamcast) online anymore.

You can't play Daytona USA (Dreamcast) online anymore.

You can't play POD Speedzone (Dreamcast) online anymore.

You can't play Bomberman Online (Dreamcast) online anymore.

And these are just ones that I played alot and can remember off the top of my head.

Online play isn't a guaranteed feature, nor is it permanent. Please, get over yourself. In a couple years the servers for Mario Kart will be shut down anyway. I've always wished game review sites would adjust reviews for when the online play for a game goes down. Because in reviews they generally mention how the online play functions. And if there is no online play anymore, that part of the review means nothing.

Thanks for the trip down memory lane though. At least I will always have the friends I met through these games.

presto7640

That's irrelevant. That simply means that none of those games are supported anymore. Just like everything else you buy will eventually no longer be supported.

not to mention mario kart was released less than a week ago, in the US, and isn't "years" old. So its also irrelevant to make an argument and say that just because it will go down eventually, means its ok for it to go down less than a week after its release. What it will do years from now has no affect on what it does now.........

[QUOTE="ozzsoad"]I'd complain, but I'm not paying to play online. If this were Live, it would be a totally different story. It's annoying, but at least I can still have a good time in Single Player if I need to get my fix.Cesar_Barba

Now that's a good way to put it. The service may be lacking often but a least we don't pay.

I disagree. You paid $50 for access to online play. It's a feature of the game, it should work. I understand that their network will have problems from time to time, but that shouldn't be the norm. I don't have MK, but I would be getting pretty annoyed as well.

Just because they have a pricing structure that doesn't include a monthly fee, doesn't make it ok for them to sell products that don't work correctly. Hopefully they get it fixed in the future.

No, we paid $50 for the game. In that case, if I buy a game for my 360 for $60, I am also paying for that on-line play... oh wait, no, I already paid $50 for that alone. The on-line is an amenity to the games on Wii, it's offered, but not promised.

I understand everything but your last line. Its offered but not promised? So they tell us it will have online play, but they mean to say "it might have online play if we choose to offer it to you"? When they put the blue symbol on the front of the box, its a promised feature of the game. When they advertise it on the TV is a promised feature of the game. When they talk about it on the back of the box, its a promised feature of the game.
