I think Set the Bar Low is a very fitting slogan. Look at how many games on the Ps3 have had low scores by the industry, then backed up by the gamers with low sales. The PS3 has to have a mega success breakout hit, a "megaton" if you will. Until then it will always be "Set the Bar Low" over in SonyLand. The problem at hand is that Sony might be fine with that if they feel they are getting good Blu-Ray sales.

For his comparison the guy used "True HD Experience" as his standard to go by. Now I personally did not buy my console to get a "True HD Experience". The console I have is to play next gen games. In order for me to play anything in High Definition I would have to go buy an HD TV which would probably run at least 2 grand.

I play games not stats. Everybody looks at the PS3 on paper and are just baffled that this so called high powered machine with all the top notch features just isn't succeeding in the market. But they left out the only thing that actually sells consoles, the games.

And yes I know, the PS3 has a couple games to play but that is it. A couple. I also think the software sales numbers are a glaring indicator of the trouble the PS3 is seeing because those couple of games that are must haves have not sold well. I do not think that the PS3 has a runaway hit yet.

Not only did I buy a 360 a year ago, I have also purchased 48 games . I do not have a wifi adapter or an hd-dvd player, but I would not think twice about buying them if I needed them.

I am on my 3rd console in a year, with 2 previous machines getting RROD. I now have an Elite. It sounds like a freight train when playing games like COD4 and Mass effect.

That being said, I love the thing to death (literally). It is the most fun I have ever had playing video games since starting around 1980.

I do not care how many machines I have to go through. I will keep buying them. There is just not another console out there that has the experience I am looking for.

I have had two rrod's and I am on my third sytem which is now an Elite. Both started acting just like you described. Freezing up a lot and such, then bam, three red rings.

That being said, I do not care how many I have to go through, I love the system and I am sticking with it. Everyone of my friends have lost a 360 and got a new one with out thinking about it.

I got mine from BestBuy with the warranty. Red ring at night, new sytem next day.

I usually do not buy very many games. I got a 360 a year ago and I have so far purchased 46 games. That is a dilemma with the 360. It has a ton of good games.

I just got a new Elite because I received an RROD on my second Pro Console. The new console plays fine, but it beeps one time every few minutes. I have a line running to it for internet so it isn't anything to do with that. I cannot find mention of it anywhere. Any thoughts?

Look at what is going on with COD4 right now. With the ranking and leveling up system they put in place, people have been going crazy. Some of the things you unlock are worthless, but there is still people striving to unlock them. Then they throw in prestige mode. By your logic, nobody would dare to put in all that time to level up, only to give away all you strived for just to have a unique marker next your name. But that is what is happening right now

The next thing is cheats. Last gen I would not think twice about putting in a GOD mode just to finish a game I did not feel I had the time to finish regularly. Not anymore. It's made me a much better gamer. And I have been gaming since like 1980.

You guys can knock it if you want. The software sales prove my theory. Cows claim how great PS3 games are but nobody is buying them. R + C was supposed to be a big game for you guys, even hyped as a system seller. Nobody is buying it. But take a good game and add some incentive to playing on top of the fact it is "good", software sales go up.

Achievements just add that something extra to the outstanding 360 library. And it is obviously working.

The 360 software sales are through the roof and have been for a while. The explanation is the achievment points. I love them, a lot. Cows, you can flame it all you want, but that is the reason.

That is also the reason that the PS3 is flopping so hard. It has none. Nobody has the drive to buy the titles to get the points. I buy and complete games that I might not have if it were not for the points. I get a lot more enjoyment out of games just because of the little pop ups. They are addicting. You can say they are worth nothing, but I get a kick out of them and that is all that matters.

The achievement points are driving the sales, which is dominating the market, pulling developers away from the ps3 and the thing is snowballing and the PS3 is pwned.

And Sony's Trophy system is no where to be found
