This is more about the SW score game than actually getting a game based on the review. I'm not saying people should use just GS when making a purchasing decision.
But the same logic should apply to whether a game "flops" or not, there's only one meaningful rating metric for anything and it's an aggregate.
The viewpoint of a single individual should never be the standardization for anything.
It's perfectly fine when it's being discussed on one of those review sites. We're on GS and this is a GS community. It's not crazy to count the GS score as a standard for a GS community game.
The problem is that old system which is now defunct perpetuates a game as being in a state of failure or raging success if it does/doesn't reach its hype, it makes for meaningless arguments and debates around this place for the lesser of the community and causes nothing but problems, it fuels fanboy vitriol.
A place such as this can exist without all of the nonsense and it should, this place being System Wars doesn't mean it needs to be some devolved cancer. Take the recently scored Halo Wars 2, its score a 6 here which is 2.1 or 21 points below where it sits aggregated, that's a huge disparity, and as a result people are arguing that it's trash and only latching onto that 6. Look at The Last of Us, look at what that did to that game around here because it got an 8, look at The Last Guardian, and how that's working in reverse because it got a 9 here but only sits at an 82 aggregated, it's a nonsensical system.
I say just toss it out, and it appears that it kind of has been, but not really.
I think you're trying to take System Wars way too seriously.
No, I'm taking it exactly as it presents itself, sadly.
