You go through 80% of people's computers without their prior knowledge and you will find some stuff you wish you hadn't. Some things are personal for a reason and it sucks everyone saw it, but if you really think about it, everyone got their own version of a big fat folder called "teen porn."

Start by turning all graphical options to as low as possible as your computer is near the minimum end of the scale. Also, it won't be a bad idea to start thinking of buying a new computer.
I don't remember the last time a game's release date was called this early and was correct. Websites always got different dates and it's always off. In fact, after HL2 (LOL), I don't even look at release date anymore. It's out when metacritic has reviews for it.
I understand why CoH is so beloved, but for me it was just too much things happening at once and there was too little fun for me micromanaging 4 fronts at once. Out of the bunch, I enjoyed WiC the best; its story is original and the gameplay is top-notch, especially the unique multi-player. They are all pretty cheap now and you can't really go wrong.
You gotta look at your life and make a choice whether to play this game. I've seen friends I will probably never see again because of this game, but I see plenty successfully balancing this admittedly addictive game and everything else. Haha it's too late for your girlfriend though...
I haven't played FC 2 to judge really, but reviews are circulating around the net. Google and make your own decision. Anything we tell you is probably from screenshots and previews so might as well go straight to the source.
It's time for a new computer, which I mean new motherboard and video card and 4 gigs of ram. Though you can have the same case so it's technically an upgrade...
I think he means after starting the game, alt-tab and ctrl alt del. Then right click the game under processes and click on set affinity. You can pick and choose there.
On a side note, this game shut down my computer 30 minutes after I started it. I'm assuming it's because of overheating, but it's really the only graphically intense game I play so I have no idea. Anybody else have any kind of technical problems with this game?
