[QUOTE="wzboson"][QUOTE="GabuEx"]Ugh... He is an employee and this bonus was guaranteed by his contract. There really is no reward, and it should basically be viewed as his salary. Furthermore, most of these execs did not have any failures, and did their jobs quite well. if the company falls apart, then it should collapse. the thing is, even if we regulate, the rules of capitalism still apply. This might not be the first bailout AIG needs. I say, let em go.. You make some good points. I don't think bailing them out then going back to business as usual is right, but punishing those who worked in the sectors that dealt more with public deals ie your car insurance should not have to suffer. Those who were paid off to rate mortgages AAA can be burned at the cross for all I care.Because the country is also based on the principle that failureought not to be rewarded. :P

Other than, er, driving their company into bankruptcy?
facepalm I don't want to flame, but I hope the protesters weren't as uneducated as the majority of this board. The bankruptcy was caused by a very small group of people largely working in completely different sectors than those who are being harassed. AIG employs 10s of thousands of people[QUOTE="Tauruslink"]Hey, aren't you Canadian?GabuEx
Yes, which is why I said "the"as opposed to "our".
oh sorry.
I think everyone knows I mean the US
[QUOTE="wzboson"]So why, why are people protesting at their door about a 500 grand bonus (1 dollar sallary).GabuEx

Our country is based on the principal that success can be achieved through education and hark work. Many of these execs worked their way up from nothing to Ivy League education. Most of them were not involved at all in the scandals that led to the need for bailout. So why, why are people protesting at their door about a 500 grand bonus (1 dollar sallary).
I understand that these people are upset that their skills are not valued as much as the execs, but such is life. We grow up with our parents telling us we're special, but people must eventually realize that their skills are not as marketable as someone elses, and hope for a better future for their children.

SATs are being less and less of an influence on college admissions, thanks to people being able to take classes for them. :)
I took them last week. Wasn't worried, and in fact they were quite easy. The biggest problem with them is that the trick questions sometimes get me (especially on the math, where I'm too busy trying to finish all the grid-ins).Saturos3091
what'd you get on the last grid in? the one about f (ab) ? And the one about the water buckets?
Didn't have those problems. I presume that I took a different test, and had multiple grid-in sections. what was your essay?[QUOTE="wzboson"][QUOTE="supercubedude64"]It seems like everyone else in the country takes the SAT and I'm stuck in the podunk midwest with the ACT... thepwninatorI recommend taking them anyway; you should have the option to go to a non state school ACT is, these days, viewed on par with the SAT by pretty much everyone but the Ivies, but they're overrated anyway, so... :P I got into a pretty good university with just my ACT, if that means anything to you. interesting. I didn't know you could do that.

I'm sure they stopped sats, which means that noone has to do them any more?? Anyways i did them a couple of years ago and got,7,6 and another 6 all respectively in that order for maths, english and science.
SAT's consist of Math, Critical Reading, and Writing no science. They are also one of the most decision factors on colleges you can get into, there's no way their getting rid of them. WTF. I presume i live in a different country to all of you. maybe you did SATII?
