[QUOTE="dinofan01"]stop fighting us wii lovers got to face facts our online service is very flawed. a sense of community is great. that the reason you play split screen with your friend instead of just playing by yourself. you get to talk and have alot more fun. the ps3 does "woop" nintendo in online. have you seen warhawk? and the price of xbl isnt that bad eitehr i would pay to have good online service on my wii. and every online service has nerds and little kids especially nintendo. Dark_Link142

The online service is a bit lame but for 3rd parties it's completely optional if they want to use friend codes or not.

That's true, but there's no central service for all games to connect to. It's be ps2 online all over again *shudder*. the wii could have a 3rd party stand up, but it's really down to nintendo to do it.

[QUOTE="xNeverTheHerox"]How could anyone in their right minds like friendcodes? There are no benefits to friend codes, at all. You can't play with people you want to, you can't talk to anyone, and you certainly can't get to know them. You might as well be playing against bots. I'd rather go splitscreen and be able to chat with my friend than go online, type in a 16 digit code of nonsense and listen to the silence that is Super Mario Strikers.DopeyDavoid

But why would you want the numbers? Sure I can memorize them like telephone numbers, but why? That's like saying I could walk to the store instead of drive. Sure you can do it, but you don't need to. Friend codes is just an inconvient and stupid way to put in a username. Even these forums have usernames, it's not a new thing and should be the norm. Also, I believe there is still random battles in Wii online games. If you used XBox live you'd know you can play with just your friends too. Also, through Xbox live I've made friends that I can play with. GASP, that's right. I don't need to date them to play a few rounds of Halo. I'm not a 360 fanboy, I love my wii. These are just the facts. Friend codes are a usless hassle. Sure they work, and sure you can search forums for people's codes, but why? Why do I need to go through all that when they could just replace them with usernames?

I got to agree with you there... When i had my xbox with halo2 it was as if i had a freaking family online. Seriously, sense of community ftw.

Exactly. Even these forums have a community and they're free. You can't tell me that this forum or any other, would be better or the same if usernames were replaced by 16 digit codes. Usernames make it more personal, more convenient, and just plain makes more sense.

Everything you said there is false

First of all if you can work a telephone number you can work a friend code.

You can play with exactly who you want to, unlike any other service. If you don't punch in their number you wont be playing with them. That is the power I've been waiting for unlike these other services that treat everyone like cats you have to herd.

Talking is because of the headset not friend codes. If friend codes left you'd still be mute.

Get to know them? I didn't know playing video games is like Match.com, or is it EHarmony?

If you want friends every single forum these days has a friend code topic, it's not like it's impossible to find people to play with.

But why would you want the numbers? Sure I can memorize them like telephone numbers, but why? That's like saying I could walk to the store instead of drive. Sure you can do it, but you don't need to. They aren't gray and brown either......

LOLhahaDEAD

They are after years of conflict. Europe looked a little grungy after WWII.

No matter how you slice they aren't all gray, you see lot's of different colors in war so unless the people in Gears are color blind the developers tried too hard to recreate the feeling of war and resorted to a depressing, bland color palette.

Agreed. What makes it worse is that all of the grey is really shiny.

Artistically, Gears fails.

... Gears of War is an amazing graphical accomplishment. Artistically, it creats a realistic world with grand architecture that has seen the ravages of war. The color pallette is bland because of the environment the game takes place in... Call of Duty and Medal of Honor both have rather bland color schemes AND less graphical prowress. Also, the shiny effect is rarely seen in Gears. IF you actually played it you'd notice that. I just got done playing some online with some friends and the only "shiny" thing was the blood.

Noooo, the screen is way too small. I wouldn't know what's happening. It'd be as small as 4 way split screen Goldeneye, ew.

Eh, I think any attempt at a Zelda movie would most likely end in disappointment,

Your grammar is terrible BTW

I don't think the Wii could handle it. Imagine the lag... just imagine. It would be great, but I can't see it happening. FFXI worked on the PS2 barely. The graphics ended up being very grating and there was a ton of lag.

I have a decent idea. Instead of signing those petitions that end up getting sent no where, I propose that everyone in this Wii forum use the Everybody Votes channel as an outlit for petitioning. Where you can suggest a voting question put in "Do you like the friend codes?" "Yes" or "no". If everyone does it as often as they can, it's possible that Nintendo could actually listen and put the question up. Sound ok?

[QUOTE="DrumminDoc"]

The one problem with your theory is that TP takes place in the timeline that Ganondorf got the Triforce and Link grew up so The Hero would have to be the Link that kept living in that timeline. The thing people don't understand about time travel is that you don't go into the past and change everything, you simply go down a different path and end up in a parallel universe. It can be hard to understand but, basically only Link's conciousness went back in time at the end of OoT. There is a Link that continues to live on in that timeline where Ganondorf ruled the world, and he could be that swordsman, not the Link that went on to Termina.

If you would like to me to explain this further then PM me, cause I love this subject and can elaborate on it better if you have specific questions, so don't start arguing with me here please. Thanx.

SuzumeCake

There's only one Link in Ocarina of Time. And he return to the past at the end. So the other timeline is left with no Link, but Hyrule's saved anyway so he doesn't need to be there.

And that stuff about only conciousness returning to the past, you made that theory yourself. Dunno what your talking about, they never explained that in the game, neither have Aonuma stated such things. All he has said is that there's two timelines.

No, he didn't make that up. It's phyically impossible to go back in time, but he's just as wrong as you are. It's a damn video game man. The laws of physics don't apply, you freaking play an ocarina to warp. Link doesn't go to an alternate universe, he goes back in time. Impossible or not he does, video games don't have to follow the laws of real life. Plus, if he did go to an alternate universe he wouldn't "go back in time for seven years" or "sleep for seven years" entombed in te temple of time. He literaly goes forward and backwards in time. Also, one poster brougt up a cool subject, you summon the swordsman using OoT songs, that's another link.
