I'm sticking with Sony ONLY because I'm going up north in the fall and I have friends down here who play, so we're not paying for XBL membership. I love being cheap!
I don't understand why do you need internet connection for initial setup?

It's like a game key for initial verification to ensure it's a legitimate copy. Once the copy has been verified and tied to your account, you're free to play it. So, it's not as though the DRM is gone, but it's far less intrusive and nearly non-existent. Yes, exactly. It's just to make sure it's not pirated.. though there's probably bound to be "technical errors" with used games being mistaken as such, just so MS can push for used restrictions anyway. But at the moment, it's to make sure it's "legit" (yeah, I'm pretty skeptical). Nice save, MS. Don't let the band-aid fall off.
I just got White 2 today, and now I'm about to open up the game and put it in (frickin school and work...). Anyway, I'm having trouble deciding which starter to choose. When I was a little kid playing good ol' Pokemon Red, I always chose Charmander, because I could safely delete all of his defensive moves (which were pretty much Leer and Growl) and stick with strong base attacks and STAB moves. Now, considering how much the entire series has developed, there's more strategy involved.
My battle strategy is a balanced way of play, with an emphasis on Speed and the Sp. Attack/Attack stats. So which starter has the best potential to help me out there? I still try to avoid stat lowering moves, but they do help at times. And how should I raise such starter so that both it and I reach our full power?
... just realized I'm this old and still into Pokemon. Oh well, dignity, never needed you anyway :3
