Got a new rig and looking forward to next semester.

A few months ago I order a new computer. I will be litsing the specs below. I've been pretty crazy about this thing. It's been working pretty well. Plays just about anything I could want. Been thinking about installing a Blu ray player, but for now I am just installing a second HDD. I won't be setting it up in a raid configuration. Don't ask me why. Sure having a raid setup could adds some speed, but I would just much rather pick up a SSD.

Specs:

AMD PHENOM II X6 1055T 2.8GHZ

1TB SATA III 6GB/S 7200RPM 64MB

KINSTON HYPER X DDR3/1600MHz 2 GB

GIGABYTE GA-890XA-UD3 790X AM3

XTREMEGEAR 700 WATT POWER

AMD RADEON HD6850 1GB DDR5

ASETEK 510LC 120MM WATERCOOLER

Alan Wake seems to be a flop.

I finished Alan Wake a few weeks ago with a kind of bitter taste of regret in my mouth. I feel that the game was extremely over hyped. Almost as if Microsoft had known it would be a flop so they threw as much money at advertising so that the could make money off of it. There seems to be nothing ground breaking about the game. I was not at all drawn in to the game. I feel that the manuscript idea was a good idea but could not make up for all of the things that were wrong. I can only hope that the free DLC is a step in the right direction.

A Shallow Gamer.

I have been wasting so much money recently. I have been buying alot of the games the have come out in the past few months. The bad thing is I neglect a game like a week after I purchase it. I bought Darksiders but feel that I will not return to it for a while. I even bought Dante's Inferno and I feel that it is a great game but I put it on hard and intented to leave it that way. I did this to give myself more incentive to do homework rather than videogames. So I guess in a way I am punishing myself by playing that game on hard. So I feel that I will soon either give in and change it to medium or give up on the game all together. I have found that after my gamefly experience that it takes a lot for a game to impress me. I must have instant gratification or the game will not last long. By do this I feel that I have wasted a great deal of money. I tell myself to hold on to the games because I know that I will come back to them. But will I really? I have no idea, I can only hope that the money does not go to waste.

MMO's

So it's come to the time of the year where I start to look for a new MMO to get involved with. I usually look for one that has yet to be realeased, but will be out before fall. I usually do this because I feel that it will make the winter days go by quicker. Though haven't been able to stick to a game long enough to make it to the winter for a few years. This year I am looking at Champions Online. I may also try out Huxley. I have also been looking at DC Universe but I don't think that I can wait that long. Champions seems to be an interesting game, but I will have to wait till it comes out. That is all for now.

Rentals

I have found that as I fly through games. Completing most of them in three days. That I should really stick to renting games. Since most of the games I have rented have only been worth one play through, or at least to me. I have really like all of the games I have played. I still feel that I would not want to own them. I am really enjoying my gamesfly subscrption.

Some Quality Game Time

Ok, so I have been sitting around the house a lot lately. I have got a lot of time to catch up on my gaming. I have come to the decision that I will no longer buy my games from game stores unless the game is going to be a major release (like Final Fantasy XIII). I have begun to buy and sell games on ebay. For all of you that are interested in checking out my ebay account. My account is Metalgod89. I do not have anything up for sale as of now. I am very happy with the games I currently have in my possession. Instead I have recently signed up for gamefly. My first rental was Mirrors Edge which I might review later. Though now that I have signed up for gamefly, I have began to wonder if I will get enough rentals to really get my moneys worth. This is because of the down time in which I must wait for the post office to deliver my games and then deliver my new game. I have yet to come up with any solid opinion on what I think of gamefly. As I do not have much to base my thoughts on.
