A cheaper PS3 would help sales a bit, but have many games that everyone wants will help them much more. So basically in 2008 when they will have a ton of great games.

But system value isn't everything- remember last generation? No matter who dropped their price first and who followed, the PS2 and Xbox were the same price, and despite the Xbox having more technology in it, the PS2 destroyed it because it had more popular games.

Hardware= 10%, Software= 90%.

I could be wrong, but I do believe that Microsoft upgraded the X360 firmware to be able to handle native 1080p, it's just that no games on the system are capable for that. Just like on the original Xbox. It was techninally capable of 720p and 1080i, but the only games that I remember off the top of my head that were capable of those resolutions were Unreal Championship (720p) and Dragon's Lair 3D (720p or 1080i).

Tech specs aside, both systems can pump out some impressive visuals.

and ur saying tht halo 3 will own a game with 4 player co-op online

better graphics, 24 players online, 40 maps, over 20 vehicles, and 18 weapons, and voice command in to ur AI in campaign mode, and downloadable mods? yea halo is gonna own tht game:roll:footballa27

I'm sorry, but I'm a bit confused. I do believe that co-op implys that a game will have some sort of a story that multiple players will follow, and unless I've missed something (and I've played all of the Unreal games) they don't have a story. They often claim to, but they don't.

so what game gets you pumped? let me guess, halo 3. what would you rather play a regular fps run and gun that doesn't have many differences from other shooters or a game with massive environments that are completely interactive and explorable, great combat and a story that can take up to 40 hours to beat if you do all the possible missions and side missions. i think you should choose a different game to post this topic about.halfirishhomer

I'm not saying this to bash Assassin's Creed, 'cause I'm more pumped for it then Halo 3, but one of the reasons that Halo is so like other shooters is because it has been an amazing success and other games have adapted some of it's gameplay mechanics. Now I"m not in the loop of PC shooters, so excuse me if I'm wrong regarding PC games, but I'm pretty sure Halo was the first game to limit you to two weapons- a reasonable amount to carry. I also don't remember dual-wielding in any other games, or boarding vehicles. Sure Halo isn't the most original game on the block, and they never claimed to be, but I just want to point out that it isn't the least original game either.

Personally I love Halo 1, the the franchise as a whole books included. I even dare say that yeah, it's my favorite game ever. But the best FPS? I don't have much PC gaming experience, but I'd be suprised if games like Unreal, Quake, and Half Life were of lower quality or less iconic then Bungie's masterpiece.
