...Ok maybe not live live, but thechannel is open!
LAGTV is a youtube channel ran by myself and a friend. We're doing SC2 commentary and strategies, game previews/trailer talks, reviews, and more if we can squeeze it all in.
We had to re-do all our videos from before which is why it took so long to get content up. That's also the reason why we only have about half of what we had planned on uploading at this point but we're in the process of getting more up asap. Currently we have ourintro video, about us video, trailer talk for Black Ops, and aSix pool strategy for SC2so gocheck them out at our channel and subscribe if you dig it!
There will be at least one SC2 commentary posted today at some point, and later next week we should have some video of the midnight launch of Black Ops as well as a review for it whenever we manage to get some time. Our first podcast might not happen for a while due to time constraints forced on me by university (damn them all) but it will happen hopefully within a month.
If you went and checked us out thanks a million, and if you subscribed then I'll love you forever in the least most creepy way possible.
If you have any questions about the channel or what we're doing, or if you have any suggestions just PM me or let me know in the comments below.
ATTENTION! If you send us an SC2 saved replay of yours we'll more than likely do a commentary on it. If that sounds like a good time, send your replays to LifesAGlitchTV@gmail.com !
Have a good one!

EDIT: Holy crap Gamespot's editor is so awful lol. I give up trying to format this properly...
Hey everyone. After putting together my new PC, I've been having a blast playing all sorts of new games, and although I already have a great set of 2.1 speakers, I sometimes (for the sake of those living with me) need to cut down on the volume. For this reason I thought why not buy some good headphones for my computer?
I've never really bought heaphones for a computer, or a really good set for music, so I'm a bit of a newb a need some help. I've been looking around and researching and have found that apparently in most cases you can get a pair that are amazing with games, or amazing with music, but rarely both. I looked around for sub $100 headphones and so far the best has been the Koss Pro 4-AA which have been around since the beginning of time, but are still apparently the best heaphones ever made (at least for the price).
As good as they may be, they're 210 ohms and so I'm sketchy as to how good they'll sound on my 750i FTW onboard soundcard. Apparently you can get a cheap amp for them (someone's idea of cheap is like $100-300) but I'd rather not go that far into it.
In any case, could you guys help me out a bit? Also, my 2.1 speakers have a headphone jack in the volume control pad, and I was wondering if the sound would be better/on par/worse than if I hooked my headphones directly into my PC.
Thanks ahead of time for the help! I'll try and respond as much as I can once I get home later.
Have a good one!
Yah, I read about that as well. I haven't OC'd my RAM, however, because I don't trust myself with that and I doubt I'd see an enormous difference. I'd rather just buy another 2 or 4 gigs to up my systems memory to 6 or 8 gigs if I wanted more out of my memory.Don't forget a BSOD can also be caused by o/c ur ram too much aswell, or accidently o/c it.
BSOD's don't mean it has to be the cpu.

Well, so far as I know (where my knowledge in this stuff is debatable haha) a blue screen will usually occur in overclocking scenarios where you're not hitting the mark for voltages on either the CPU Core, the CPU FSB, or the memory. I could be horribly wrong, but I could have sworn that's what I read. In any event, the upping of the voltages on the CPU Core solved the problem.I've never seen a blue screenwhen overclocking badly, is more like everything freezes and your only option isto restart the comp

Haha thanks man! It was an intense cram session for sure. Yah I'm currently looking at a couple of Heat Sinks/Fan combos to bring those numbers down. I'd love to be able to get comfortable temps at a 3.8ghz clock.Wow...for a "newb" you seem to have picked up on this rather quickly. 3.6 Ghz is definitely a solid speed to run that processor at (I have my 8400 at 3.4 with a stock cooler).
I would definitely look into an aftermarket cooler for the CPU as it could make upwards of a 10+ degree difference in idle temps, let alone load temps. unfortunately, I am not very well versed in the aftermarket cooling scene but I am sure a recommendation or two will come out of this thread. Good job!

Well I got bored today and decided to educate myself in the fine art of overclocking. Needless to say, my attention span for reading walls of text on the subject was a bit limited, and after 2 hours, I just decided to watch a couple of videos and print off a guide and do it that way.
The big thing for me was that I run my computer air cooled only, stock cooler on my CPU and all, and so I knew that even though my E8500 can easily get to 4ghz, I wasn't going anywhere near that. Even though I'm still a bit of a computer newb, I knew that in order to keep my CPU alive for any length of time, I wanted to keep the core temp under 70 C when under maximum load. Word has it on the world wide web that its best to keep something called the TJ Max at around 30 C (and I took that as meaning you want to keep the core temp 30 degrees below the CPUs max of 100 C).
So onward I trekked! First I wanted to go to the upper end of what I thought I might manage on air, which was 3.8ghz at something like 1.3 volts. That was a bit much as it was going to hit the 80s under a load so scratch that. Next I tried 3.5ghz at around 1.2 volts. This was much better, and I played around with the volts, eventually hitting the ground at around 1.15 volts without blue screening.
I wanted to get a bit more, so I finally fell on 3.6ghz at 1.15 or 1.2 volts (can't remember, but with "vdroop" I'm around 1.13 volts. This actually gave me temps only 1 degree above the 3.5ghz setting and so I think I will stick with this.
I'm not content with the temps entirely though. I idle around 42 C, and after running the hour long OCCT stress test (runs your CPU at 100% for the whole time, save a couple of points where it drops to 50% for a break) both cores top out at 69 C. These aren't bad temps at all, considering it's summer and my room itself is about 22-24 C.
I think I will take my good friend, Chilidragon's advice and purchase a good heatsink for my CPU. I have no idea how much of a drop that will provide, but if it can get me idling in the 30's and loading at 60-65, then I'm a happy camper. If it does even better, then awesome! I will then jack it up to 3.8ghz and have a happy party. As a side note, I should probably mention that I use Real Temp 3.0 to get my readings. My understanding is that the sensor on the chip itself is the Tcase, or the temp inside the cap of the CPU, and is usually 10C cooler than the core temp. Correct me if I'm wrong, as that would be a bad thing to mess up on haha.
Before I wrap this up, I have a question for all of my computer saavy pals. If the computer doesn't blue screen, is that a definitive sign that you're supplying enough volts to the core? May be a stupid question, but it'd be great to know! Also, any other OC tips, hints, or things to know in general, would be much appreciated!
[QUOTE="xboxrulze"]Haha I read about this today and I had the same reaction as some, what with the whole hormone thing. I just don't trust pumping myself full of testosterone (not that I need it anyway, I'm SO manly). I'll be very interested in seeing how this pans out.nocoolnamejimAn xboxrulze sighting on the OT board?! Wow! I know! I'm like the OTHER unicorn. I can't pass up a Jimbo thread when my eyes pass over it. By the way, totally need to start that GOW2 run soon. PM me what days you can do it and we'll try and schedule the pwnage of the Locust.
Haha thanks for giving us a heads up, Jody. I was beginning to think we'd been hung out to dry :PThis was reported last night. It seems to be a recurring problem so in the future, post a thread in this forum and send me a PM that it's down.
