well, what kind of games do you like? i've heard Oblivion is a good rpg and will definitely keep you occupied for a while. i would personally go with RFOM. it will also keep you busy for a while if you like shooters. but if you prefer the more tactical shooter, most people will suggest R6V. but right now, i'm sure everyone will try to persuade you to getWarhawk. apparently a decent game but online multiplayer only. go with the gameplay you like best. there may not be a whole lot of options out there yet, but the few that are really aren't that bad at all.
i am truly sorry for your loss. something like that happened to me while playing a game once...boy was i livid after realizing how much time and effort was wasted. i'll never get that time back...never!
