ATI Catalyst 8.12 came out a few days ago and fixes some issues with WoW and provides performance boosts of up to 25% in a lot of games including Crysis! You guys were using old drivers, you gotta stay up-to-date. Now this whole graphics card comparison is meaningless.
The X2 and GTX cost the same but the X2 performs better in 3dmark06, crysis, and UT. CoD4 was made for consoles and not next gen PC graphics cards. It's like the PC version of RainbowSix Vegas, it just doesn't work right with PC hardware. X2's in cross fire should blow the 8800GTX SLI away but if you're already getting over 60FPS, whats the point
How much did that HDTV cost that you connected your console to? An $800 computer can run this game on high. Lets see, your console was $300-600 and HDTV was.. $300? I don't think so...
Sure it looks far and away better than it does on xbox but as a PC game, the graphics are sub par at best. These kind of graphics would of looked good back in 2004 but not in 2007. I don't recommend paying $50 for this. Look for HALO 2 to hit the bargain bin within 4 months.
How much did Microsoft pay GameSpot to do this feature? In any case, I'm still getting Vista. DX10 and new functionality + technology. If you work in the IT world, its a must have just to learn how every bit of it works. If you're a PC gamer, It's still a must have as all new games in 2008 will be running on DX10 with limited DX9 support. You really just don't have a choice. And Mac? Well... when a Mac can play all the games in my library with all graphic options on and at the same framerate windows does, get me a copy, I'm sold. And no, it doesn't, not even with those half-assed Windows mods.
