Let the Games Begin.

The 2008 Beijing Olympics have officially started. Not being a huge fan of Olympic sports I can honestly say I'm not going to watch every event. Some are cool to watch, others are kind of boring.

I just want to wish good luck to everyone who's competing in this years Olympics, and go team U.S.A.

Anyone else going to watch the Olympics?

New Sonic Game Announced, and GiantBomb.

By now we all know that another Sonic game is in development exclusively for the Nintendo Wii called Sonic and the Black Knight. I just got the Nintendo Power issue with Sonic holding a giant sword on the cover. Since it was just announced, there aren't any details on how the game works, or some footage of the game in action. When I see the details, I might get interested. Until then, I have no opinion on it.

Last I'm not going to judge a book by its cover. Just because Sonic is carrying a sword doesn't mean the game already sucks. At least give it time to develop and for the facts to be released before you judge it.

In other things, it seems everyone is joining a website called GiantBomb.com. After constantly hearing about it, I joined it yesterday because I wanted to see what all the talk was about. So far it's a pretty good website, I like their rating system of using stars instead of numbers.

Thoughts on E3.

Last day of E3, it wasn't as exciting as we had hoped. But a lot of cool stuff was showed.

Nintendo did show off some cool new games like Wii Music and a new Wii Sports. But since it was Nintendo, I was expecting a whole lot more. At least they announced Pikmin 3, that should be sweet.

Microsoft did a great job showing lots of footage of Gears of War 2. After watching the press conference, I've gotten interested in the upcoming game Fallout 3 which looks really good based on the footage I've seen.

So a bunch of great games to look forward to this year. For me, I can't wait to get Gears of War 2, Sonic Unleashed, and Fallout 3.

What games are you looking forward to this year?

Making Progress with the New Games.

I'm really glad I got these Nintendo 64 games, I can't believe I almost missed out on these classics.

I beat Paper Mario today. It was simply awesome, and now one of my all-time favorite Mario games. Though out of all the Paper Mario games, The Thousand-Year Door is still my favorite out of the trilogy.

GoldenEye 007, well I just pick missions and go around shooting people and see how long I'll live before getting killed. It's still a good game, but it's really overrated. No offense.

I'm almost done with Half-Life, which is absolutely an incredible game by the way. Just a few more levels and I can move onto Half-Life: Opposing Force, and Half-Life: Blue Shift.

Other than that, not much else has been going on. Since me and family aren't going vacation this year, it's going to be a long dull summer for me. Oh well, at least E3 is almost here.

Independence Day.

Well, it was Independence Day. The United States is now 232 years old. Mine was good this year, me and my family went to a small party and then went and saw the fireworks. Other than that not much else happened.

I hope everyone else had a great Independence Day.

Retro Game Shopping.

I ordered a few old Nintendo 64 games a few days ago, and today they finally came in.

GoldenEye 007 for N64 - GoldenEye 007 Nintendo 64 - GoldenEye 007 N64 Game

GoldenEye 007 is a pretty good game I must say. I can see why a lot of people liked it when it was first released.

Paper Mario for N64 - Paper Mario Nintendo 64 - Paper Mario N64 Game

I have to say that the first Paper Mario is awesome. This is a great role-playing game, and I literally can't stop playing it.

Perfect Dark for N64 - Perfect Dark Nintendo 64 - Perfect Dark N64 Game

This is also a great shooter. Though before you start the single player campaign, you have to do all these tedious challenges when all I want to do is just start the game. Besides that, it's still a great game.

I hope to get more Nintendo 64 games soon, the last ones I plan to get are Mario Kart 64, and the original Super Smash Bros. But until then, I'm going to enjoy these games.

Second Anniversary.

Wow, I can't believe it's already been two years since I joined GameSpot.

I just want to say that I've met a lot of great and interesting people on this website, and that I will continue to hang around GameSpot for as long as I can.

Movie Recommendation #23.

Movie: A Clockwork Orange, 1971.

Plot: Alex DeLarge (Malcolm McDowell) and his gang of punks enjoy having fun whenever they can. Their days of fun consist of vandalism, theft, and rape. When it comes to innocent people and morals, Alex and his gang could care less. But one night things go too far, and Alex is arrested after breaking into a women's house and accidentally murdering her. Now in prison, Alex becomes desperate to escape the walls of conviction by any means. Alex soon hears about an experimental treatment that can turn you into a good person and that you'll never go back to prison when you're done. Alex soon becomes the prime candidate for the experiment when the government takes an interest in his criminal record and personality. Mario Kart Wii.

I finally got Mario Kart Wii yesterday. After playing it, it's definitely the funnest Mario Kart yet. I thought using the steering wheel would be hard but it's actually pretty easy to use. I also like the retro courses from past Mario Kart games, especially the ones from Mario Kart 64. Overall, it's a great game that I recommend you check it out.

I'd also like to point out that my Wii isn't hooked up to the internet, so I can't play online.

Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots.

Yesterday was the release of Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots for the PlayStation 3. Recently I wondered what all the hype was about so I got Metal Gear Solid 1 and 2. Here's what I thought of each.

Metal Gear Solid- Awesome is all I can say. The plot was great, and graphics and game play were good too. It was pretty hard, though after awhile you got used to the difficulty.

Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty- Once again awesome. Despite not playing as Snake for nearly the whole game, it's still pretty good. The plot is once again the best thing in the whole game, along with great graphics and game play. I haven't finished it yet because it's a lot harder than the first one.

But now, Metal Gear Solid 4 now joins Grand Theft Auto IV to receive a perfect score this year. I again think a perfect score is a long shot, but hey that's just GameSpot's verdict. A big congrats to the people of Konami who worked hard to make this game, you definitely did your job.
