Movie: Aliens, 1986

Lt. Ripley (Weaver) is the sole survivor from a massacre that was waged on the scapecraft Nostromo by a monsterious unstoppable alien life form. Ripley got away in the escape pod and put herself into hyper sleep for the trip back to Earth. Ripley's escape pod is discovered by a salvage team and she instantly taken back to a space station orbiting the Earth. Ripley awakens only to find out that she was drifting through space for 57 years and that it was just plain luck someone found her. Suddenly the Marines come to her asking for her help, the planet that Ripley and crew landed on many years ago called LV-426, is now inhabited by humans, but the Marines have lost contact with the entire planet. Ripley agrees to go along with a platoon of Marines to LV-426 as an advisor, Ripley fears that the residents of LV-426 have encountered the same aliens that she did. Ripley and the Marines head into the main energy plant and find all the town residents dead and blood thirsty aliens crawling all over the complex. Ripley and some of the Marines escape, but the main spacecraft was invaded by aliens and it crashed and blew up. Ripley must lead the troops into battle, find a way off the planet and destroy the aliens once and for all.
Another excellent addition to the Alien saga, great special effects and tons of action and suspense. Aliens won two Oscars for best sound, and best visual effects, plus Sigourney Weaver was nominated for an Oscar for her role in this movie. If you look closely, you'll see lots of similarties between this movie and the Halo video games.
I give Aliens: 4 stars
