Movie: One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, 1975
Type: Drama
Starring: Jack Nicholson, Louise Fletcher
To avoid another trip to jail, Randle P. McMurphy (Nicholson) decides to fake insanity and gets thrown into a mental hospital rather than go to prison again. Randle has a hard time ajusting to the fact he's living with "nuts" and tries to get along with them as best as he can. Randle then begins to let the other immates know that just because they're locked up in a loon, doesn't mean that can't have fun. Randle decides to loosen the guys up by starting his own gambling rig, and teaching them how to fish, play basketball, watching the World Series, and how to party. One of the nurses, Nurse Ratched (Fletcher) becomes aware that Randle might not be crazy and fears that his free-spirited personality could be a bad influence on the other immates. Nurse Ratched keeps a close eye on Randle which leads Randle to lead a personal war with the help of the immates, against Nurse Ratched. This was a fantasic movie, Jack Nicholson was perfect and the movie itself was perfect, which is why it won 5 Oscars including best picture. The only thing I didn't like was the ending, it was horrible and it could have been better. Besides the ending this is a superb movie, enjoy it!
I give One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest: 4 stars
