When you're president and you say stupid/illegal shit, people tend to notice. The fact that they always retort to "it's just a joke," shows me that they don't take the office seriously.

And because it's "just a joke," they soften the public into the notion that what they're suggesting isn't as bad or illegal as other people say.

Needless to say, this whole presidency itself is a joke and a disaster.
