@suppaphly42:the way I understand it is, she does remember everything when travel back though time with the photo method. What makes her forget is when she don't do anything and the time just wrap out from her and she passed out, like she mentioned while argue about stuff at the parking lot section (outside of the party), "in a few minutes ... blah... I will forget / don't remember everything ... blah... " and the red aura things wrap in... So when she went all the way back to the beginning of the story she literaly force herself not to do anything, throw away the butterfly photo that signify she will gain the power if she keeps it... She definitely remember everything.
@tato_vr1987: that choice of ending is... I dunno. Grim? I agree to the other guys that saying it have nothing more to explain, everyone dead. Though it is... a little bit weird to see that Chloe just doesn't seems to care of her family at all, and just drive away. While Max certainly seems really in deep trauma, knowing that she's the reason why everybody dead. I can't imagine they can be happy at all, with that choice.
After went though previous episodes, one should have some ideas of what's gonna happens in the end - even if it is not clear in your mind that you can't really spell it out. No, don't see this game as a game. But understand it.
There is no real surprise in the final episode like the episodes before. But I think that's the most fitting way of ending the story - giving it a clear conclusion, let everything go in peace. Not just concluding THE story, but also to give us the player understanding something about "life". Yes, it's true that our decision before don't really have major impact over the ending. But then again, I think you missed some "message" if you mind too much about that issue. I don't see that as a flaw; instead I see that as the way it's meant to be. Max is now grown up, learn to accept what's suppose to happens; instead of being naive rushing to change the time line. (yes, de javu, if you played "that game"). You have to let go the past, let go whatever mistake you make and move forward into reality.
Nevertheless, the emotions conveyed in the finale are still very well done. Don't mind too much about the voice acting or what not. Puzzle isn't too hard to figure out as well, clues are clear as day. Well, still hoping there will be sequel or something, it's so rare to have a game like this and I really appreciate it. But... sigh... Let it go, let the story finish in peace, or at least, that's the path I choose.
The realization at the end... Is it really worth to save one soul, dooms the others and suffer the trauma afterwards? At least on my thought as a 3rd person - it's totally not worth it. But what of Max's thought...? It must be hard for her.
@Patohua1 @Xenrathe at first it looks cool. But after you have a few days in it- people realize they are just same things- scripted world, simply "automated" quests, people complaining about the boring world exploration, massive grind at end game just for some not so good cosmetic stuff (lot's of other games do better gear designs), etc etc. It's still generic.
I agree to the person said MMO players want something just unrealistic at the moment. Yes, I want a full dynamic world, with superior humanoid AI driven world & contents, so nothing will happens the same for twice. We need a LIVING world that changes, not a scripted world with no-lifers NPC standing there 365 days a year.
It's beta, of course I hope there will be more improvements in the future especially in term of map and mission varieties- hoping for PvP DM/TDM and those more traditional modes as well. Some refined UI may be nice, as item amount keep stacking up it become harder to manage. I simply got too much mods in my inventory not sure to sell them or keep... (drop is really good when you're in squad)
So far enjoyed it very well after playing for a few days. I'm not too bothered about those cash items anyway. PLAY IT & EARN IT, stop just thinking about taking shortcut with money. Players these days... If other people got $$ to burn that's not my problem.
Still got some bugs around, hopefully got fixed. As well as refine the tutorial systems, as newbies are struggle to keep up, struggle on finding the correct passage or passing certain obstacles.
Really sad to see there are still people that thinks "it's ok, patch up and everything will be fine!". Their mindset allows EA to bully them over and over and over again, yet they don't see the truth. Dumb or too-nice?
