That actually doesn't work. You need a switch or router. And it doesn't matter was OS's the computers are running. You can still transfer files between them.

The easiest way I can think of would be to E-mail the file to yourself, but your E-mail system might have a restriction on file sizes that can be attached to an E-mail.

The drive needs to be formatted to NTFS. FAT32 won't work.

The best way is using gigabit ethernet.

I have a macbook pro and a old gateway computer, i dld a 50gb tahts broken up in like 7 7gb files, i tried moving them with a 80gb external hard drive i just formatted, but it says that the files are too big, how do i move them?
