i know there isn't a correct order for the games, but the multiple Link theory is true. it's just part of Hyrule lore or whatever. that the Hero will be named Link, he's dressed in green, the Princess is always Zelda because of the tradition, and the Evil is always Gannonforf because he can turn into Ganon, and because he is the only male ever born into the Geurdo. they're always the three that hold the trifoce. courage, wisdom, and power. but there is no way the same Link could go through all those adventures. Nintendo told us that OoT and MM went together, that WW was after that, and that TP is between them sometime.
that is true... maybe he doesn't defeat Link though. in the intro it says the people hoped the hero would return, but he never did... maybe something happens to Link that causes him to not return. something other than death...
Since I find myself thinking about the new Zelda game over and over, and also watching the gameplay footage and trailers for hours, I just threw together some ideas about what might happen. More than likely though I'm wrong because Zelda always has some crazy plot twist. But anyway, here's what I think is going on. Since all the Links in the Zelda series start off not knowing they're some kind of hero by fate, this is the case with our new cowboy friend. It always seems though that both Zelda and Ganon know Link was born a hero... In the new trailer we see the cloaked woman, who is without a doubt Zelda... it's obvious. The castle she's in is extremely dark and everything seems to be in black and white. My guess is that it's Ganon's castle. The black and white would more than likely mean some other world... say, a dark world. I'm sure Zelda is trapped some how, being the damsel in distress she's known for.
Anyway, Link turns into this wolf. The question is why? How does he get this way? Well as you know from the gameplay footage, Link gets pulled into this dark matter. This is how he gets this way... which will surly be kept secret until you buy the game. So he's been turned into this wolf by something in the dark world and locked away. Along comes this strange character who seems to set him free, and to repay him, Link has to pack him around... or take him somewhere. Weather or not this being is good or sinistar is unknown as well.
I believe it was IGN who talked about some movie that involed a man turning into a wolf and a lady turning into a hawk. So, this seems like an idea Nintendo is aiming for... since we've seen a hawk already. I'm thinking Link can only be the wolf in the dark world, since the gameplay footage was set in black and white, and Zelda can only be a hawk in the light world. How this comes about is still unknown, but I'm guessing they both have some sort of special connection with animals. This seems like a Zelda plot to me. Anyway, in the end they've both got to meet somehow and fight off Ganon...
As for the name, Twilight Princess... I'm guessing Link turns into a wolf when the moon is out or full, since we saw him transform at night.. Link can only see Zelda in her human form when he's a wolf, at night, in the dark world. That is why she is the twilight princess...
