Good article about Titanfall and Destiny. I've immediately added Titanfall to my watchlist, then when I looked Destiny up to add it, I found out there is no PC version planned. So I really don't care if it's going to be the best shooter since sliced bread. Guess what, Bungie? I have stopped playing FPSs with a gamepad since Halo 1 and Killzone 1. I simply have not touched any of the awesome FPSs released only on consoles, and I own both, PS3 and X360. Oh yes, I do. But it is a matter of principle: I do NOT play FPSs without a mouse and keyboard. Period.

So maybe yes to Titanfall, definitely no to Destiny. No, but no thanks.

And yeah, happy profits from folks who think they're saving money by buying a console rather than a gaming PC, then buying overpriced, aim-assisted games for it. Hah!

Hi. Fallout 1 and 2 are about the [only] turn-based RPG games I ever played to the end, and several times too; they're two of my all-time favorite games, and I play a lot of genres. However, I tried one of the Final Fantasy ones many years ago, was really impressed with the visuals (yes, I'm one of the gamers who care about good graphics), but other than that, I could never really get into the game; perhaps because I found the turn-based options or menus too tedious for my own likes and taste. The things I really like in a game are: An interesting story, fun combat that is not too complicated nor require too much micro-management, and good visuals or graphicsprobably in this order.

Accordingly, can you suggest a turn-based RPG PC game for me that I may want to try and perhaps help me appreciate the turn-based genre a bit more? I am fine with the suggestion being one of the Final Fantasy games, and also totally fine with a suggestion of a Japanese game that has English subtitles. All I would need at this "introductory" stage is that the combat system and "menus" are as simple as possible. I understand that some people like to micro-manage, have endless options, and change even the bullet or arrow type and so on, but I'm not one of those gamers; I'd prefer to have fewer but still meaningful options that offer some variety and interesting combat strategies. And to give you an example, I enjoyed Dragon Age 2 perhaps a bit more that Dragon Age 1, and loved its combat, even if many others were calling it "dumbed down"; I also enjoyed Mass Effect 2 a lote more than ME1, in spite of what others complained about in terms of limited options and so on. In short, I do not play to micro-manage; I play for the story, for fun combat (and twists of strategy or smart choice or combos of spells can be appreciated), and good visuals.

I hope that some of my fellow gamers who are experienced in this genre can give me great suggestions based on the details I gave to clarify what I'm looking for. Many thanks for anyone taking the time to give suggestions.

If you're gonna buy the game & finish it in one sitting or a weekend or something, then get Gears of War, because it is Action first then Adventure, and the story & characters aren't really emphasized in it. However, if you're gonna take your time, play for 2-4 hours, then give it a rest until the next day and so on, and if you like a good story and some emphasis on characters, then definitely Dead Space.

I like both games, but have to say that I prefer games with good stories, and the story is almost non-existent in Gears of War, while being very highlighted in Dead Space. I very much prefer Dead Space.

Yeah, I also vote for "Xbox360 now, PS3 later", because I couldn't really wait any longer to do "next-gen" gaming so I bought the Xbox360 (as I couldn't afford to buy a £1750+ next-gen-ready PC system). In my own opinion, I believe that the console war is more economical (thus political), i.e. serious, than anyone can imagine. I do trust the GameSpot team to be very fair and as neutral as possible when they review games and the likes, but I can clearly see a bias towards Xbox360 almost everywhere I go. I believe that this is partially because GameSpot is mainly American, and they're not going to start helping the Japanese Sony win an economical war over the American Microsoft. No matter what you do and how neutral you can strive to be, you can't really get yourself to hurt your own homeland in an economical way. With that said, it is clear to anyone who researches that PS3 (I fell in love with it even more after knowing that it will support keyboard & mouse for FPS gaming) is far superior to Xbox360. Yes, PS3 is more expensive, but after researching, I found that the price tag was justified, at least when compared to Xbox360's price tag.
