The Reason Why i like Half Life and Why i think it purly deserves the Hype it receives is because :

Tell me 1 Game that you can compare directly to half life

U wont be able to find it

dats the magicof half life

its a gamedat cannot be compared because of the way it plays , it plays like a movie and makes you feel like a hero at the end of it.

No other FPS / RPGor RTS can give you the same experience

all otherFPSgames are comparable to each other on all parameters

The game engine is pretty well made , reason why u might have issues with AI is because there are commands for AI

You cannot compare Half life to Mafia or Crysis or any other game

No offense to u but i just hope that Episode 3 is not the last episode

the bottom line is , everything is about money , i live at a place where the pirated versions of latest games are available 5 months before the originals do , so the distributors are stupid enough to release their games worldwide but on different dates , its a whole chain , and the first pirated copy itself is made by the distributors of that game and not by people who want to make money from it , and by the way when you pay $50 for a single dvd you should have the right to make copies for it or for your friends , thats what you pay for , so piracy is not illegal , it is your right , and what can be done to reduce is to make settings in the game itself rather than using copy protection softwares because they can be cracked like for an example if you consider the game Dark Star One , pirated copy is available that bypasses the security softwares but when you actually apply the crack to play it without original disc , the game runs and you are able to get to some stage in the game but then some ingame features are disabled that prevent you from moving ahead in game , so end result : You end up buying the game coz you liked it and you want to finish it , strategies like these might work out
