Hi,
I'm looking to buy Panasonic Plasma TH-42PZ700 and was wondering if there is any differences (quality wise) between the US and the UK models? Which one should I go with regardless of the price.
I read somewhere that the one which ends with an E (i'm not actually sure if this is the same as the UK model) doesn't really play 1080p resolution. Here is a quote from the review I read: "OK guys ignore the blurb about this being a 'full HD' Its full HD with SEVERE restrictions.
I bought this TV yesterday and I thought I was in a pretty neat position since I've got 2 products capable of 1080P - an xbox 360 and PC with latest graphics card.
Got an XBOX 360? yes? Want to stream 1080P? yes? You know this TV has component inputs? Great Yes?? - No its 1080i for you.Got a new PC with top notch graphics card? Yes? and want to stream 1080p through the vga? Yes? - No its 1024x768 for you.
If you're lucky enough to have a DVI-HDMI converter for your PC then you can enjoy 1080P but man is it blurry that way. I thought I was technically capable, and I'm still messing around, but even with the latests nvidia graphics card and software I'm unable to get it to display correctly.OK, so assume you then sell your 'old' xbox 360 for a new PS3 then everythings 1080P right? No, not if you want picture in picture, then its down to what looks like 480i !!!
I can see why Americans (with 480 resolution) are happy with this TV. If you're European and looking for a TV that shows great improvement over your standard TV, then this isn't it. This is way too much money to pay for a TV that in many cases is no better than a standard European TV's resolution."
So is this true?????
And by the way, I don't live in niether of those countries so it doesn't matter to me as long as there is no difference in quality.
This of course is very important to me for both Xbox 360 and PS3 picture qualities.
Thanks in advance.
