OK, this is something new I'm gonna try so I don't see anyone reviewing music on Gamespot so I guess this is different. Heres gonna be my formating for reviewing CD's. Brief summary of each song and then the score the song gets out of 5 and then give the CD an overall rating. Hope you Enjoy!
Ok, so today I am going to review Mezmerize by System ofa Down. By the way, if you don't already know, I am a huge SOAD fan so I might be a bit biased.
Now, Mezmerize was released in 2005 as a two part album along with Hypnotize, SOAD's last album before there hiatus (a break a band takes where they should be coming back). I should be reviewing Hypnotize as well soon, so stay tuned for that. The album had two singles, B.Y.O.B. and Cigaro. Lets look at the songs:
Soldier Side-Intro: A short, soft, and great way to open up the album builds the tension for B.Y.O.B 3.5/5
B.Y.O.B.: Just an aweome song with insane guitar and great lyrics. One of SOAD's best and most popular songs. 5/5
Revenga: Fast paced and a great follow up from B.Y.O.B. 4/5
Cigaro: Lyrics are just too weird to enjoy the song. Really heavy though. 3/5
Radio/Video: Probrably my favorite on this album. Its catchy and has some great vocals. 5/5
This Cocaine Makes Me Feel Like I'm On This Song: Don't be decieved by the title of the song, this one is great. 4/5
Violent Pornography: Another strangetitle and has some interesting lyrics but this is really good too, and is very catchy. 4.5/5
Question!: I love this song a lot, drums are really good. 5/5
Sad Statue: Don't really know what to say about this song, its just generally good. 4/5
Old School Hollywood: Probrably my second least favorite on the album, its pretty good. 3/5
Lost in Hollywood: A nice, soft song to close the album. 4/5
Well, this album is great and is pretty strong throughout the whole thing.
Final Score:
4/5
