Still a bit on the fence with this title. When I first saw it, my initial thought was, "oh Lord, here we go, yet again trying to *reinvent* or *recreate* the medieval days, yet again". If it says anything, I grew up as a kid totally LOVING knights, chivalry, archers, the medieval stuffs, etc... fast forward some THREE DECADES later, and for the most part, I'm pretty much done on most anything medieval unless it is really immersive and/or has some means of diving you into the feeling of the environment, etc. This game SEEMS to have those things... but seriously, think about it, D&D, Ultima, Wizardry, Castle (PC), Adventure (Atari), Venture (Coleco), Elder Scrolls, Everquest, (War In) Middle-Earth offshoots (and online MMORPG), Allods, For Honor, Mount and Blade, Medieval series, Chivalry, Dark/Demon Souls, The Witcher series, Kingdoms of Amalur, Dragon's Dogma, Dragon Age, Two Worlds, Darksiders, Stronghold, Age of Conan, Baldur's Gate, Diablo, Arcania, Risen, Fable, Warcraft, and SO MANY others especially looking at the 1-million-and-one WoW-clones... (not to mention the MANY cheap cash ins over the years/decades) fairly burnt out on medieval (even Assassin's Creed of sorts lumps in, even THE SIMS had a "The Sims: Medieval"!)... I even have to massively research many of the really (proclaimed) "good" upcoming or newly-released Korean MMOs before I'll even tough them (Black Desert Online, Riders of Icarus, Revelation Online, etc).
The idea/notion of being able to immerse into the idea of medieval times, even in a lowly "son of a blacksmith" role caught my eye, unlike the many other that are like, "create your character that's already a knight, wizard, mage, archer without any backstory or reasoning for even being there, then go out and slaughter everything in your path and pretend to sing the stories of your conquests in true minstrel fashion"... seriously if it was another of those, without much rhyme or reason for why we'd go about plunging ourselves into wash/rinse/repeat/copy-pasta for the upteenth time, I was soooo ready to toss a few expletives in for emphasis, rofl.
But on the whole, this doesn't seem/look THAT bad... but due to so many titles lately being rather disappointing (looking at you Mafia 3, Ghost Recon: Wildlands, Just Cause 3, Watch Dogs 2 (kinda-sorta), etc, etc, etc, etc...), will probably wait until it comes down in price before checking it out. :P
