What Nintendo should have done with their system: First of all they should have abandoned the main screen altogether and concentrate on super charging the tablet controller only (with a super high res screen, multi-touch, long battery life, good speakers, Wi-Fi, and a good integrated sound card for headphone) the offering would have been clear and simple a High quality handheld tablet device that is light and compact and have all of his horsepower coming from a beefy external box and therefore would have the ability to play any of the latest games with ease including all the latest game engines. On top of that the benefit of playing on a small screen is that you will get better frame rate, smooth gameplay at 60 FPS, touch screen ability and comfortable controls all in the same place. I mean who wouldn’t like playing battlefield 4, MSG 5, COD Ghost or Mario and Zelda in full Glory HD anywhere in the house. (Bedroom, living room, toilet, and kitchen, you name it) innovation is good Nintendo but simple practical ideas are great too. The big breakthrough that Nintendo did with the Wii u technology is that they managed to totally owned how to stream games in Real-time to and external devices with zero latency at a minimal cost. That’s the big one and instead of concentrating on that they diluted the offering by adding TV+ hand held + cross functionality between the two and now we end up with a low spec tablet, a low spec Console, and a system that no one understand and does not sell. This is such a shame.

first of all keeping the Wii name was a very big mistake. No w Nintendo, it is a good effort for trying for something different with two screens but it is just not appealing and it does not feel natural to have to look at two screens while playing.I have tried the Wiiu many times in shops thinking: "ok lets give another go" and every time I ended up being confused on where to look and finished by playing only on the controller screen thinking whats the point of that. the fact that the screen is so large on the controller just make it look immediately like and handheld device. and honestly Nintendo could have build the system differently.

Nintendo won't go anywhere with the WiiU. They will sell some more unit if they release some good titles but it will never be anything special. they need to get rid of that name and things like the Miis (that no one but Nintendo find entertaining) need to dissapear as well. Best thing Nintendo can do is go back to the drawing board rather sooner than later and come with another Console thats not the a Wii spin off very soon.

Gone are the days where people will run and buy a WiiU because a specific game is out. Nintendo need to realize that. the wii u is just too expensive for what you get. Game wise they need to come up with a massive AAA line up (including a brand new Zelda and Metroid) by the holiday season if they want to survive this time around. otherwise its back to the drawing board for Nintendo and see you t on the next console bandwagon

@omar_q That is exactly what I think a lot of people including me are thinking at the moment. Nintendo claims they have power house titles coming along and think everything is gonna be rolling for them by the holidays seson but gone are the days when people would flock to buy a WiiU just because smash bros or Mario kart 8 is out. Nintendo is gonna have to realize that they need to work seriously and come up with a massive AAA line up to get people interested again in the Wii U. Gamers have a voice as we just saw with Microsoft removing all their DRM policies because of gamers not being happy.

Typical cocky Microsoft statement: "We're really making the living room your center of fun for your family,". Wake up MS no one need an Xbox to use skype or watch TV and nobody uses Smartglass or Kinect ! That only exist in MS reps head like the billion of console they think they will sold.

For me the best Zelda of all was the wind Waker. I love the art style its fun to play, the world is huge, its reactive, there is a real feel of freedom cruising the oceans with you boat finding new world, do side quest and mini games and best off all look for underwater treasures with your crane. difficult to come with a new Zelda idea but for me I am not really fuss on how old zelda is int the game and I don't need more mature content. what I would like to see is more of a getting back to the roots kind of thing. maybe something more free to roam where you do not have to follow each mission and have to go from A to B in a maze to find that special key. I mean Zelda for me means adventure discoveries, fun Game play lots of hidden dungeons and secret treasure to be found. i don't really care too much about big boss battles. I would rather have instead loads of smaller enemies to defeat at any one time with great combat mechanics
