Absolutely loaded to the max with cars, tracks, and more.
The amount of content in this game is simply incomparable to any other racer on the market.
As if that weren't enough, the graphics are nothing short of amazing, with cities brimming with detail, superb lighting effects, and awesome-looking car models. My only complaint about the graphics are that the textures look pretty bland at times. But a few less-then-detailed tile sets will be the last thing you'll be thinking about when you're powersliding at 190 mph in your Porshe 911 Turbo.
The sound is almost as good. The soundtrack is admittedly sort of lame, but it's really cool how the songs in each of the radio stations matches the region you're driving in, and with 200+ songs, you won't exactly be bored by the game's music. The DJs on each station are also a great touch.
Of course, even the crappiest of games can have great sound and music. But PGR 2's racing is simply superb. There are many different race types, including circuit, cone challenge, overtake, time trial, and speed photo. This really adds variety to the game, and you'll be compelled to complete each event to see which ones you'll unlock next.
Inevitably there's lots of different cars to choose from, from sh--ty Ford Focuses to Pontiac GTOs to Porshe SUVs to Saleen S7s.
My only complaints about the game are that there really isn't much depth to the driving, and it's a little too unforgiving for an arcade racer (i.e. hit a side railing and you lose the race). Still, few other racing games deliver this much quality and this much quantity. In other words, BUY THIS GAME!
