Definitely one of the best sleeper hits of 2005.
In the start of the game, you just start like anormal 1st person shooter, you are with your troops and you fight your enemies. There are a few robots you'll have to fight and than a chopper too. This mission is not hard at all, and is moderately short. After you take out the chopper, you'll see a cutscene in which your character, Nathan Frost tries to save a comrade from a rocket plunging from the sky. Frost gets severly damaged and they have to rush him to medical help.
They rebuild you, you can now use awesome new mind powers and you get a whole bunch of new abilities to. You can get a item called "Icepick" where you can hack into systems by pressing R1 once, then once again. You can hack into turrets, tanks, robots, etc. and take control of them in battle. This is a really neat feature. Mind powers are the main thing that sets this apart from most 1st person shooting games, it makes it similar to the Deus Ex series which is about the same concept. Also, this game takes place in the future, around the 2060's so technology is much more advanced giving it a feel like Halo to. So the brain child of Halo and Deus Ex is Project Snowblind. While it may not be as good as Halo, or as good as Deus Ex for some, Project Snowblind is definietely something to look at.
Speaking of looking at, the visuals of Project Snowblind don't fall short of fantastic. Sometimes there are some slowdowns but for most of the game, it runs at a smooth framerate and the environments are not only detailed but simply look amazing. The character models are all about the same mainly because everyone is all supposed to wear the same outfit and the character's faces look great too. The animations are smooth also.
The game has sharp voice acting and very realistic gun sounds and the screams of your allies and enemies and explosions make this game sound like the war is next door. Not quite as good sound as say, Medal of Honor: European Assault but it is surely enough to impress you.
The game also has a 16 player online play mode. If all this is not enough to influence you to buy this game, then hopefully the Halo similar online play will. Besides, the game is only $19.99 so you don't have much to lose and I'm sure that you'll like it.
