It's been nearly two years since the announcement of Project X Zone in Japan, and it's finally arrived overseas. Project X Zone is a cross-over featuring many of your favourite characters from Sega, Capcom, and Namco Bandai!

Story:

Since cross-over video games tend to be mostly fan service with a lot of cool graphics but lack gameplay or a storyline, this games does relatively well. Characters from each of the series get pulled into a different dimension that cross over into the other character's worlds, and have to find a way to get back. It seems confusing at first with all of the introductions, but the encyclopedia does well in explaining the different characters to give some insight into their stories.

Gameplay:

This is where the game shines. Project X Zone is a strategy role-playing game, and in battles, you are mashing the A button and the D-Pad to make combos to attack the enemy. You gain and use XP (Cross Points) to defend, counter, and use your special attacks.

Characters:

This is purely the reason why I bought this game. Characters from many franchises make an appearance and you can also control most of them. The good guys are pitted against the bad guys from their respective series. Since some of my favourite series are Valkyria Chronicles and Sakura Wars, I fan-girl squealed when they were in it. Although Valkyria Chronicles 3 didn't get localized here, it's nice to see them in this game.

Conclusion:

Project X Zone is a well-executed cross-over from Japan's juggernaut game companies in Sega, Capcom, and Namco Bandai. The graphics are good, the storyline is decent, the characters are awesomely epic, and the gameplay is fantastic. If you love characters from any of these series, then this is a no brainer.
