If you're looking for a good time waster - not particularly deep, but a destruct-a-thon - look no further :)

I'm going to make this a relatively short review, purely because there isn't much of a reason to go in depth with this one.

Visuals - The game looks great. The fluid animations of Alex look brilliant and when mixed in with the great effects of high fall landings and running up buildings etc - makes you feel like you really are moving like a powerful individual. All the combat is satisfying and for the most part quite brutal - which tends to blend well with Alex's seemingly amoral outlook on the situation.

Gameplay - As noted above, the combat is very satisfying and leans towards brutality lent to an individual that doesn't care much about the general population :P Your movement around the city is kept engaging and fun throughout the game due to Alex's "upgrades" and it doesn't really get old running up buildings and jumping down meteor style and watching the ensuing destruction around you. Let's be honest. This isn't a deep game. There are elements that are interesting - like the flashes of video into the "web of intrigue" - basically explaining everything leading up to the predicament the lead character is in, but beyond that, you kill people, destroy vehicles and have a huge amount of fun doing so.

Sound - The sound effects in this game match the brutality of the gameplay very effectively, and listening to the different calls over the enemy radio about what is going on can be quite entertaining.

Over all - really, like i said, it isn't a deep game and so the review should reflect that. It is a hell of a lot of fun running through the game, whether doing the missions or the challenges (like point to point time based stuff, or killing uber amounts of creatures etc) and i think that's what the developer was after. It is a great purchase - but don't go looking for deep gameplay, because you won't find anything here beyond fun, powerful destruction :)
