User Rating: 8.4 | Psychonauts PS2
Psychonauts is brought to us courtesy of Tim Schafer, the same man who brought us Grim Fandango. This game is without a doubt extremely fun to play. The characters are very fleshed out and lively. The plot is intricate, but it doesn’t take itself too seriously. The humor is right on point, very irreverent and very funny. The graphics aren’t totally eye popping, but the cartoony style works for the game and its premise.

Gamers will take on the role of Rasputin or “Raz” for short, a former circus performer who, against his father’s wishes, enrolls himself into a summer camp for psychics. Throughout the game you will collect figments, mental baggage, spearheads, and other trinkets to increase your psychonaut rank. With a higher rank, you can perform really wicked stuff like pyro-kinesis, telekinesis, etc. The game is challenging enough to keep hardcore gamers occupied, while at the same time, easy enough for casual gamers to pick up and enjoy.

Don’t rent it, buy it. This game rocks.
