15 years later and it still hasn't lost its touch!

Gameplay - If you haven't guessed by the name, or the cover-art, Punch Out!! is a game about boxing. Although the game doesn't get you swaying to dodge like Wii Sports boxing (unless you are using the balance board), it's still very addicting. There aren't too many fights, but there are improved versions of the fighters in the second part of the game, which are pretty much all new characters. The best part about this game is trying to figure out how to beat each different fighter. You also can't move left or right, you can only duck, dodge, and attack. There's really nothing to do outside of that.

Graphics – Some great-looking graphics, but not the best they could have been, especially considering there's really only one background throughout the entire game, and only a few characters. Still looks nice and tidy.

Length – This game has three modes, and it won't take you more than 4 hours to beat the first part of the game. It will probably take you 4-8 hours to finish the second mode, depending on how strategic you are. This game has a lot of replay value, but more for the main game than multi-player.

Storyline – There isn't too much of a story to this game, but what story there is tells about Little Mac, a 110 pound boxer, who aspires to reach the top. The cutscenes consist of Mac training, and Doc eating chocolate. It really wouldn't be fair to rate this game's story, as it doesn't really have one.

Sound – The sound-track never really changes throughout matches, and does get repetitive and dull after a few matches.

Controls – Very easy to control, and very fun to manoeuvre through the fights and figure out your opponent's weak points while trying to dodge every attack he throws at you.

9.5/10

Multi-player – There is a multi-player, but it's not really fun at all. I've only played it a few times, and there's really nothing special about it.

OVERALL:

I was able to look past the pretty bad multi-player when rating this game, as it is more of a single-player game, and I think of the multi-player as an added bonus. It's overall a really fun game, good job once again Nintendo!
