Brings me back to the days when Nintendo made good games.

This game is fun. It's just plain fun. I had lost all hope that Nintendo would make a challenging, fun game again. Brawl was the last game, it seemed. Then my friend invited me over to play this game. I had played the original a little, but wasn't very good at it. So I fight Glass Joe, a very easy guy. They ease you into the more challenging fighters, and by the end, you're fighting very hard bosses with strategies you have to learn and watch for. The graphics are very well done, with nice style and cell-shading effects. The voice acting (I was happy Nintendo came out with a game with actual talking) is great. It's very humorous, as the fighters taunt you, but you counter-attack and they moan instead. Doc (the trainer) has some good voice acting. I didn't get a chance to try the two-player mode, though. The game brings back almost all the old fighters, plus one new one, and he fits right in with the goofy fighters. This game also proves that a game doesn't have to have motion control to make it fun. I played NES style the whole time and had a great time, laughing and learning how to beat each fighter. They even bring back Mike Tyson. They can't legally use his name, but after you beat career, you unlock the game's version of a hard mode, and the final boss is called Mr. Sandman, but, unlike normal mode, they give him Tyson's hair cut, tattoo, and his absence of certain teeth. At least they did that instead of bringing Mr. Dream back. Then, if you somehow beat him, you'll get a mode that lets you play like the original, with only three losses and you're out. They stayed true to the original, and the results are fantastic. Don't miss out on this game. It'll remind you of the good ol' days, where gimmicks didn't exist.
