Best game of 2009 so far, and the best in the legendary Punch Out!! series.
User Rating: 10 | Punch-Out!! WII
"Dance like a fly, bite like a mosquito." Apparently nothing has changed from the old Punch Out!! games. Little Doc is funnier than ever, the characters, though no longer considered so PC, are still in their original forms. The game is both hilarious fun, and insanely challenging. It starts out nice and easy, easing you back into the Punch Out!! you know and love, but by the time you reach Great Tiger, things get tougher. After you beat the World Circuit and you feel like you've been tested enough, guess what? Title Defense mode, a mode that makes even Glass Joe a formidable foe, stands in your way of ultimate victory. Once there, each opponent takes at least 30 minutes to take down. The replay value is amazing, and you'll spend hours getting through it the first time.
The graphics are a beautiful cel-shaded style, but what's really amazing is the animation. Down to every last detail, how the opponents and Little Mac fall, the way they move, how the ring bounces when a heavy opponent falls down, how they get back up, it's clear how much care they put into the animation. Every last detail of the game is perfected. Really, bar a few new characters and perhaps the inclusion of Mike Tyson, this game couldn't be better. In all it's star studded glory, Punch Out!! for Wii is the best sports game of all time.
