Although I was somewhat jaded coming into the experience, Pursuit Force really turned out to be a solid title. (OVERALL)
The game play has to be some of the better that you will find on the PSP platform. The controls are rather simple, which makes it an easy game to learn and as I mentioned, although it is a little repetitive, the prospect of jumping on cars and commandeering them is interesting to say the least. There are some bugs though such as the frequency (or infrequency) of the jumping icon. If it doesn't come at the exact moment, you may miss a crucial jump and be set back a few more seconds. While this generally doesn't matter in the easier levels, it tends to get on your nerves as the game goes on. Also, boat chases are perticularly annoying as the mechanics for driving those clunky crafts will sometimes set you back.
As for the graphics side of things, its a rather breathtaking game because of the multitude of vibrant and realistic scenery and game objects. Over hundreds of miles of track come together with many distinct scenery changes to make this a very visually pleasing title and it is guaranteed that you will stop for a moment while playing and take a look at it. Framerates are smooth for the most part, however I have experienced slowdowns on two separate levels now, most likely due to the overwhelming smoke and spark effects that it needs to render. All in all it just looks very good.
Sound is sound. The engines rev, and all the guns have a somewhat distinct firing sound. The voice acting is particularly well done, mimicking those action films of the late 80's to a tee. (Although it can get a little boring at times)
Overall this is a very well done game. I not quite sure why I gave it a high tilt, but the classification seems to describe my feelings perfectly. Pursuit Force is a very playable game on the go, and it is also very well implimented, albeit with several small flaws. I for one will definily continue to enjoy my time with it for as long as I have it.
