While it does have some minor problems, Radiata Stories delivers a very entertaining and fun experience.

Radiata is a very unique game in terms of feel and play. In my opinion, it’s one of the most detailed games I have ever seen. You have the option of changing your character's armor, weapons, and items equipped. And you can actually SEE the equipment change in the cut-scenes and battles; a nice feature in my opinion. The NPC's are also very finely detailed. Each character is like a living person as they go about their business day to day. Many unique and lively characters will be available to recruit during the course of the game.

The battle system is a hack-and-slash adventure that has you controlling a party. Unlike random encounters though, you can actually choose your battles by running into monsters you wish to fight. This may not always be so easy however. In addition to fighting, you will have to manage your party as well. This is done by using commands and links. While some links are very helpful, I feel the command system could've used more work. Most of the time you'll find yourself going head-to-head with the monsters, letting your party play a support role in the battle. The link system also could've been improved more, maybe using special attacks and abilities, other than just staying in formation.

The graphics have a very original style that leaves its mark. It has a sort of cartoony feel to it, yet at the same time it seems very normal while you're playing. While you shouldn't expect too many flashy attacks and special effects, the volty blasts add great momentum to the game. I myself often find myself playing just to see the characters' volty blasts.

In terms of story, Radiata Stories won't be an epic adventure that will leaving a lasting impression on you, but it still has some memorable twists and turns that will leave you wanting to find out more. While the first half of the game doesn't really seem to have real concrete plot, the major decision point will alter the story greatly depending on what you picked (Human side or Non-human side). Some of the cut-scenes are also very humor-able. Some of the funniest cut-scenes happen in the beginning of the game and are a nice addition that keeps the mood of the game intact.

Overall, Radiata Stories is a fun, entertaining adventure that will have you hooked for many hours. While it may not be the next blockbuster, it’s a good, decent game that'll keep you entertained for a while.
