Clicked into sixth gear
Graphics: OK this is PS1 we're talking about so obviously the graphics aren't as good nowadays but judging it back then I'd say it is dependable and in the first person mode it's clear and the waterfalls are looking lovely as well which all adds up to a pretty decent background and detail although things close up are looking ugly and dated sometimes.
Gameplay: Basic controls means some easy fun without any complications. The lack of venues/locations works against the game but the selection of cars and slight modifications and change to the bodywork is really admirable. It's fun and simple to love, hard to hate.
Sound: The woman's voice gets annoying and the selection of music is below average and shadows over the game, the woman's voice coming in at various times of the game telling you to "Take him now!" and "Show him what you've got." are very annoying. The cars sound realistic enough though.
Lifespan: It's bound to keep you racing but with the likes of Gran Turismo and nowadays NFS:MW out and new racing similations you have no point in buying it nowadays unless you've still got your PS1 or a hardcore fan of Sony's first big console.
